I love this game for many reasons but it has its limitations. The art package, sounds, and theme are great if your a horror fan. The haunted house is amazing. There really is no other pinball machine like it. I really like how you can stack modes. You can start the Dead Heads mode which you can start by hitting the Dead Heads Family Crypt. The floating heads make funny comments when you hit the Family Crypt shot. At the same time you can start one of the movie clips and play it and if that isn't enough you can start the Junk in the Trunk mode. When all these modes are going at the same time it is really satisfying to hit your shots and watch the movie clips (tough to do while playing). Elvira has a history with pins as this is the third in her series. She has become a staple in the pinball industry. She speaks a little "dirty" now and then and Stern has allowed some cleavage. The only downside of the game is like most games it can become a little bit repetitive. I wish there were more movie clips and movie modes. Maybe they will come in the future. I highly recommend this game for anyone who likes horror and humor in the same game.

Another great pin from Keith Elwin. Beautifully smooth shots and flow. The rules are still somewhat limited and need improvement but it is early and it should get better. Reminds me of TMNT and DP because you are fighting villains. I wish the animation played a little longer then it does when fighting villains. Portal hole is great. Ramps are satisfying. Lighting could be better but I install Pinstadiums in most of my games. Overall, this game has a unique playfield layout which can't be easy to do with so many design elements already used up. Keith has brought in a "Fresh" feel into pinball. His layouts are fast, flowing, and of course there is some kinetic action going on. Art is amazing. I really like what Zombie Eddie has brought to the table. With more music, animation, and callouts this game will only get better.

I have owned the original game and the new LE. The MMLE takes it to the next level. The theme, artwork, sounds, and added mods from Chicago gaming like the topper and bigger screen are amazing. The ramps flow and it never gets old destroying the castle especially after you have already defeated a couple of Kings. The humor of the Kings is hilarious to listen to. However, for me in a home use environment I lose interest fairly quickly. Maybe its because I have owned MM twice. The rulesets of some of the older pins are shallow compared to todays games. MM is a great game but I don't believe its the #1 pinball machine of all time which it is currently now ranked. It's a great classic game though and definitely warrants being in the top 50 pinball machines. I recommend owning this game if you have a larger collection (5 or more games).

"Amazing" game. from Pat Lawler. There is a lot to do in this game and mine is set up pretty tough which is what I like so it's not easy getting through all 7 continents. I like games with modes. This is similar to Addams Family in that you must hit one of two scoops to start an adventure. When you start an adventure you must make the required amount of shots to receive a letter from "RIPLEYS" This game is a lot of fun. 6 Pop bumpers and a magnet under the shrunken head. My knocks on the game are the cabinet art is bland and there are very few mods to purchase to install on the game. I'm not sure why that is but unlock other games out there where there are several toppers to choose from for example I can't find one for this game. A keeper for me!!

Johnny Mnemonic is a great fast game with awesome rules, music, and game play. It is important that you play this game working 100%. You could say that about all games but this game really needs to be working well to really enjoy it. If the glove, flippers or anything else aren't set up right it makes a big difference. This is my second JM. The first was a players pin and it plays completely different then my new collector quality JM. The ramps are lightning fast and the rules and music are well integrated into the game. I don't care the movie didn't do well. This pin is great. Play one that is dialed in and I think you will agree.

Awesome game that keeps me coming back to play over and over. I can't get enough of this game. It is a brutally tough game to play which is how I like them. The shots are satisfying to hit. The bicycle girl or CDC shot is deceiving in that it looks easy to hit but difficult to master hitting it consistently when needed. Crossbow is a nice feature but can block your vision until it resets itself back to its resting position. Color DMD is awesome on this so I highly recommend installing it. I have yet to kill 100 zombies in a game. I rank this second in game play only taking a backseat to Metallica. It can be bleak so I have to change it up with Ghost Busters when I'm finished, Lol. Great game.

Another great game created by Keith Elwin. As soon as I seen the game I could tell it was an Elwin game. Good flow, a lot of kinetic action and just over all fun. I like how Stern didn't try and just add movie footage. They created all new animations for this game which had to be challenging. I'm always asking for less clip art and less movie footage because Stern seems to use that a lot. My guess is when they pay for the licensing they are limited in what they can do with a limited budget. In this case, Stern didn't acquire the full license which left them a bigger budget to create new art and animations which I personally like. This will only get better as code improves. Awesome job Keith!

Metallica is my all-time favorite game as of now. We all know that changes over time. Addams was my favorite game for years but the newer Sterns are slowly replacing my old time favorites due to their depth in code. Metallica has great flow, depth in code, and Dirty Donnie did an amazing job on the artwork. I have played this game over a thousand times on 3 different Metallica's I've owned and I don't get tired of the game play. The Crank It Up mode is awesome and I don't understand why Stern doesn't use the in more games like Aerosmith. Time and money I'm guessing. Anyways, most of you out their have played this game and know what its about. One of the best if not the best game over created. Shout out to John Borg. Thanks brother for creating an amazing pin.

BKle is an amazing game. Steve Richie hit it out of the ball park again. Its a tough game. If you don't make the shot your going for there is a good chance the ball will rocket back at you so quick you will hardly be able to react. I'm not a fan of upper playfields but this one is different then most. It is similar to whitewater but has more shots. The only thing I don't like is the upper playfield is made of a plexiglass type of material and it is going to get scratched over time. I already have minor scratches after 100 games and its only going to get worse. It is an easy changeout for a new piece though. Also, the game is a right flipper heavy game. I wish the game was a little more balanced. That said, the artwork, lighting, and rules are awesome. I love playing against the monsters and the multi-balls are intense. Great game from a first-class designer. Good job Steve.

Aerosmith is a very fun game to play. I've owned it and sold it and bought it again. The overall gameplay is smooth. The shoots are not easy and you have to play it a lot to get the shots dialed in. The art and music is great. My only gripe with this game is I would like to see Stern continue to develop the code. The Crank it Up shot only adds time to an existing mode for example as opposed to Metallica where the game enters an entire different mode when hitting Crank It Up when lit. The code seems unfinished and thus the game is hollow. Come one Stern, what say you? We need deeper rules on this one. If this game had a deeper rule set it would be right there with Ghost Busters and Metallica!! Both amazing games. This said, its still extremely fun and I always enjoy going to it.

Elvira stated in this pinball machines promotional video, "Instant Classic" and she was right. The code has significantly improved. I love how you can stack different types of modes. The Haunted Mansion is amazing looking. Good flow with the ramps. I opened the out lanes to increase the difficulty. The art package is as good as it gets if your into humorous horror like Ghost Busters. I'm very pleased with my purchase. Stern, your team did a great job on this one. Thanks for not being politically correct in a world that has gone mad by allowing Elvira to exploit her wonderous boobies on the back glass and side art unlike my Coors cardboard cutout of her where her hair hides the gap. Get one if you can!

I only owned this game for about 2 months. I liked it but it just wasn't for me. The funny thing is once I decided to sell it I played it more and it started to grow on me. Overall a nice break from the same old pin layouts. It definitely feels different then most pinball machines. Good overall design by Gomez. I'm not a huge fan of the 80's graphics on the screen but I do like the 80's arcade sounds. It feels a little cheap to me when I play it. It doesn't have that B/W solid feel to it. I recommend!

Great game by Stern! I highly recommend the premium over the pro if for no other reason the awesome detailed lighting especially under the playfield. The LEDs are amazing they way they sink up during game play. Fun flowing game with fairly simple shots. Maybe to easy. A shaker motor and blackout mod will really enhance the game. I love the cab art and wasn't a fan of the back glass so I added the Ulrich translate on mine. My only beef with the game is its a little to easy to play and the rules are very simple. Not a lot of depth here. Still a fun game and I highly recommend!

One of my all time favorites. Addams Family is the game that persuaded me to purchase a pinball machine for my home. When Addams first came out I played it at a local bar and fell in love with it. Ten years later I bought one for my home. Pat Lawler gave us a mode based game which sort of set the ground work for all future pins. I love everything about this game. Call outs, artwork, game play etc. My only beef with this game is like most B/W games they have simple rule sets. When you clear the mansion that is it. It doesn't have anything else to do like "Crank it Up" mode on Metallica. So its tough to compare these B/W games to modern games. That said, it holds it own even it todays market nearly 30 years later. Highly Recommend!!

Keith Elwin's first attempt at designing a game is a true masterpiece. 4 flipper game that keeps you on your toes from start to finish. I love how the new software keeps track of every detail like how many times the spinner is spun. My only knock on the game is it can be easy if you own the game and get used to the shots which can lead to long ball times. I prefer brutally tough games for home use so I don't tire of games. That said, this game is so awesome it keeps me coming back for more. Highly recommend!!

One of Stern's greatest! The software package along with John Borg's design makes this one special. This was one of John's first fan layout design I believe. It has been so successful that he has used it in many other games (GOTG for example). The Crank It Up mode is so fun. I don't understand why Stern hasn't used this on other new games. To me this sets Metallica apart from all other Pinball machines. I game within a game. The flow is amazing and I love the music. I highly recommend this game. I've owned it twice and only sold it because I want the premium.

One of the best all time. A ton of toys and shots to make. The artwork, callouts, and music are all great. I'm not a huge fan of upper playfields but this one is better then most because of the magnets. It plays slow like all wide bodies which means its a little slow but doesn't impact the fun factor much on this game because of the amount of toys and shots. Highly recommend!!!

Another great game by Chicago gaming. They took an all time classic and made it better. Like most B/W games it has a simple rule set compared to todays games but was designed so well that it holds its own in todays market. Great in a bigger pinball collection. The topper is so cool. Maybe the best!! These hold their value very well so don't be afraid of resale. You can own this for a few years and sell it for more then you paid because it will always be in demand.

This is a really fun game to play. It has a fairly simple rule set especially compared to today's games. The ramps are solid and feel great when you hit them. I think it has great value. Arguably, Chicago Gaming has the best quality in the industry but then they don't have to pay designers to create something new. They apply that extra money to quality and you can feel it when you play. Great game at a great price point considering what you get compared to for example a new Stern LE. You won't go wrong with this game because when your ready to move it there are a lot of people that have this game on their wish list.

I really enjoy playing this game. It is very difficult to play because it is so fast and there is a larger then normal gap between the flippers. Couple this with magnets that throw the ball around and you find it is difficult maintaining any kind of control. I like hard games though especially for home use. The art, music, and gameplay are great. One of my favorite machines and I've owned nearly all of them. My one knock it that it is linear but there is so much going on it doesn't seem linear in the same way Road Show does. I highly recommend this game to anyone on the fence. You won't be disappointed.

I have owned two of these in the past and when I don't have it in the collection I miss it. It is a really fun pinball machine. The trick is to time the multiball and hit the upper playfield shot so you get 5X the points. You can really rack up points that way. One of my all time favorites but like many older Bally/Williams games they are limited in what they can do. Once you beat them then all you can do is start again. That is usually when I sell or trade them. The theme and pinball integration are spot on. You have a Yeti or Bigfoot and a huge ramp that mimics a river. The artwork is amazing and I love the Callouts. I highly recommend this one. Buy it if you can find it in good condition. This one is notorious for cabinet fade also.

I played AFM when it first came out at Sheppard AFB in Texas as a young GI. I fell in love with it then and I still love to play the game now. The artwork, game flow, music, and call outs are some of the best ever created. Who doesn't like to kill Martians and blow up space ships? The only knock from me is it can become somewhat repetitive hitting the center drop down target over and over. The cabinet is notorious for fading on this one so don't be too discouraged if yours is faded. I highly recommend this game to everyone.

CFTBL is a great pinball machine. It is classic in everyway. Most people have already described this game in depth so I won't go into game play. I want to make sure that if you are getting ready to buy this game you understand it is a very limited game. It is one of the most beautiful pins and the 3d Creature under the playfield is a great toy. The sounds, callouts, and art work are fabulous. However, the rules and game play are a little too simple for me. You spell FILM and hit the two outlane shots that are flashing and then look for the Creature. There are a few other modes but I don't recommend this game for people with a small collection. You will tire of it quickly because of its simplicity. Anyone with more than 5 or 6 pins it will make a great addition.

MM is one of the all time greats. It is considered by many to be the best pinball machine ever made and competes with MB and AF. That said I can agree it is very fun to play. It has great flow and the call outs are hilarious. To me the trolls are frustrating because they impact the flow but they are funny and antagonize the player. I have owned this pin and it frustrated when it kicked the pin out from the swamp it did it with just enough power to drain SDTM. The artwork is amazing. Its a nearly perfect pinball machine in every way. The only negative is the rule set is somewhat simple but that what the limit of the software at the time. Its one of those games that holds its own year after year. The remake hurt its value a bit. I highly recommend this game.

Another Pat Lawlor classic Funhouse is a very fun pinball machine to play. Known for the first pinball machine to have human animation. I love how the theme is integrated into Rudy's head. Rudy gets upset when you don't leave. Hey your having fun. Like many early pinball machines it is limited in depth but what it lacks in depth is makes up for in creativity, ingenuity, and just overall fun. Initially, Its tough to understand what to do but after a few games when you understand the ruleset it becomes extremely fun trying to make those all important shots. These have skyrocketed in price lately which shows in ability to keep up with the times even when newer games like Star Wars and Iron Maiden are coming out. I Highly recommend this game.

Firepower is a great early state pinball machine. Its one of my all time favorite. I haven't owned a lot of early solid state games but I rank it above Cleopatra and Buck Rogers but below Aliens and Paragon. Its tough to get multiball but when you do its rewarding although it doesn't last long. The artwork is great but the sounds can become someone annoying after a while. Either way its a really fun game that I would buy again. The First multiball and lane change game ever. Don't hesitate to buy this one.

Whirlwind is my favorite System 11 game is probably my favorite non DMD game. It is Pat Lawlor's precursor to Adam's Family as it has a familiar layout, design, and kickouts. The Million point shot is difficult and very rewarding. The music and art are amazing although the lighting is a little dark. LEDs really bring this game to life. The music and art work package in these system 11 games are unique because they didn't come from a movie or TV show. They were created from the mind of a specialist. This era of pinball has some of the best creative games in pinball IMO. The fan was a pinball first and the spinning disc always ensures each and every game is unique and different. I highly recommend this game to everyone.

Star Wars Premium is an incredibly fun game to play. I have owned Batman 66 and Guardians of the Galaxy Pro with Stern's new larger LCD screen and they didn't last long in my collection. When I bought Star Wars I was hoping to not be disappointed again. It falls nothing short of spectacular. I love everything about this game. Art, theme, game play, music are all great. It is a tough game to play. Ball times are usually pretty short and it is tough to hit shots over and over because the game is so fast. The speed on the game makes it tough to trap the ball. It feels great though when you get on a roll and hit several shots in row. It has the capacity to flow when you get the shots down. It has a wide open playfield which I prefer. I'm usually not a big fan of busy or obscure playfield like Bride of Pinbot. The only issue I'm having is a little dimpling on the playfield but I believe that will even out over time. It also was very expensive. IMO it isn't worth it to buy the premiums/LE on some of the pins. Most notably Aerosmith. However, I highly recommend buying the premium/LE on Star Wars. The added options are worth every penny on this one. Obviously, I highly recommend this game.

A great mid 90s wide-body game. I love these older games that aren't based on movies, rock bands, or TV shows. It has a lot going on for an older machine. The music, call outs, and art work are great. I don't like the linear play (starts at same place and progresses across the country every game). I do wish you had the option to start any mode or at least I wish the modes were random. Like most wide-body games it is a little slow in game play based on the size of the playfield. That said, I highly recommend this game. Its a lot of fun to play. I have owned it twice and would own it again in a heartbeat.

There is a reason MB is at the top of nearly every pinball rating system out there. It's a great game all the way around. I owned this game and played it a lot. Monsters and rock go hand in hand. It just works. The shots are all rewarding and the game modes coupled with DMD animation, music, and call outs are what really put the pinball machines over the top. Great flow. I highly recommend this one but its expensive. The new release that will one day come out may drop the

One of my all time favorite pinball machines. I own one now and it is my second one. It has everything so its tough to knock of any points on this game. I find it tougher then what some folks say but I usually have my pins set of difficult with the outlanes opened up. The game has great flow and a great rule set. Music, sound, callouts, artwork package, toys all seem to work with the software. If you're a LOTR fan that is icing on the cake. I highly recommend this game. You won't regret owning LOTR.

This is a great pinball machine to play. The Bagatelle takes up to much room but works with the design of the game. I like this game a lot more than Bride of Pinbot. The music and playfield art really give you the illusion you are in space. The topper is built very well and adds to the game. I color coded mine with blue and red LEDs and it makes a big difference in how it looks. I had to adjust my drop down target in front several times to get it right. If its to low it jumps the ramp as it passes over the drop down and won't go into the eyes of pinbot plus there is often wear at this spot because it hits the wood. I highly recommend this game. It has the "I want to play it again and again" aspect to it.

I'm updating my rating on this game. I owned a beat up version of this game and didn't care for it at all. Game play just wasn't there. I bought a much cleaner BoP and this one plays completely different. It is fast and very tough. I enjoy trying to reach the "Billionaire" club and thus far haven't been able to attain it. I often find that when I base my ratings on games the condition makes a huge difference. If you play a bar version compared to a collectors game there is usually no comparison. Try a BoP that is fully functioning and for the haters you may find you like this game.

This along with Whirlwind are great Pat Lawler games that are a precursor to one the best pinball machines of all time Adam's Family. I love the call outs, art, and music. However, For me the fun factor isn't as good as Whirlwind. The playfield is a little to busy. I love to play this game once in while but in a smaller collection (under 10 pins) its loses its fun factor quickly. I've owned it twice but both of mine were players pins. I'd buy it again if I could find a collector quality one for a fair price.

I owned this game for about a month and just did not like the game play. Definitely not for me. I like the theme, artwork, and music but the game play is the most important thing to me. My ratings are usually fairly consistent with the Pinside community but not with this game. I don't like the flow of the game and just overall get bored when I played the game. I didn't even want an extra ball.

Dracula is a unique game because its one of a two (Tales From the Crypt) horror themed pinball machines that is actually scary to play. Its a dark pin with scary music and animations. My Dot matrix was even red. I love the animation when you stick a stake in Dracula's heart and a whiplash is heard. I've owned 3 of them in the past because its the type of pinball machine that you want again after it leaves your collection. My only knock is a lot of the playfields are planking (I had one of them) and it has a simple rule set. Other then that its an awesome pin in a larger collection.

Frankenstein is the second game I ever owned and I had a tough time initially trying to get the DMD to work right. Once it was fixed I really enjoyed the game. I love the horror theme and its great when Frankenstein throws the ball at you for multiball. The 6 ball multiball is a rush. Live, Live, Live!! The gameplay is a little off balance to me but the large DMD, moving Frankenstein head, cab art are all unique. The Sega build quality isn't the greatest. It has a lot of dead spots and the sound isn't sharp. This being said, if you haven't owned Frankenstein I recommend it. Its a great game and you will find yourself wanting to play again and again.

Spider-man was my first pinball that I brought home. I owned it for nearly 3 years and when it left my home our family played it over 5000 games. I still compare most games to it. The integration of the call outs, shots, and modes are extremely fun. I don't have anything negative to say about this game. Mine was very dependable when I had it. I personally like it a little more then the Vault edition. Its tough to beat the gameplay of this one. One of the best by stern!!

Paragon has the best art package of all time and is fun to play too. The backglass and playfield are amazing! I owned this game for about a year and wish I had never sold it. It has that "I want to play it one more time" effect. It is a wide body game so it is big. I highly recommend this game to folks that enjoy having an older solid state game in their collection. The only thing I don't like about most older solid state games are they start to loose their lastability in a smaller collection.

AC/DC is a phenomenal game! It definitely calls you back to play just one more game and then another and another! Great sound system and if you are a fan of AC/DC your going to love this game. The shots are tough. It feels great to have a good game because it doesn't happen very often. AC/DC is a punishing game. Miss and shot and there is a good chance your going to loose the ball. The only thing I don't like is the bottom playfield is a little gimmicky. It doesn't look right to me and I don't like how you can't remove the acrylic overlay. If the overlay gets scratched or foggy the entire playfield has to be stripped to replace it. Ughh! Mine has just a little fog to it that doesn't bother me. I'm just afraid it may get worse. Otherwise, this game is a classic. Music, theme, art, playability are all off the charts. I highly recommend to anyone that enjoys music pins or AC/DC.

Police Force is a classic Williams System 11 game that is very fun to play. It is notorious for having a broken center ramp and unfortunately I don't think they are being reproduced. Python DeAngelo did a great job on the art. He was truly creative and somewhat provocative. He turned what was supposed to be Batman Pinball machine into a animal crime scene game on short notice. Like most system 11 games, it has a basic rule set compared to todays modern games but I personally love playing this game. Its a rush hitting the center ramp over and over. A lot of people don't like how the final jackpot score can be taken by the last person but I like it. The designers were just trying to bring a different aspect into the game. There is only so much real estate on a playfield and most designers struggle trying to differentiate there game from other games. The trial and error aspect that designers create is what makes pinball machines so fun. They are all different!

Fish Tales is a great game to own in a larger collection. I've owned mine for about 2 years and love it. It is a tough game and game times can be very short but that is what I like about it. I personally love the theme. The music and art work fit the theme well. Fish Tales was produced when pinball machines were created by the designers imagination opposed to the modern day pins that seem to be based on movies, bands, or TV shows. FT has a simple rule set and is a Family friendly game that is tough to master by the best in the hobby. Williams produced a lot of these but they are tough to find in excellent condition. The art work is often faded and the playfield is often worn around the tackle box & fish on the center of the playfield. I recommend this game to anyone that enjoys a fast and furious game.

Cirqus Voltaire is a unique game in nearly every aspect and is one of the best games you will ever play. There is no other pinball machines like it. The animated backglass, DMD below the playfield glass, and pop-up head, and neon tube set this one apart from all other machines. The art, music, theme, and game play set the benchmark for the pinball industry. The build quality is solid. I highly recommend this game!
