Exciting gameplay, nice artwork, fairly deep rules, good translation of the theme into the gameplay (although the humor of the movie doesn't really come through much in the game). Innovative use of Newton balls. Inserts do a good job of guiding the player; callouts are not as helpful. Some shots are ridiculously tight, which can be a plus or a minus depending on the challenge level one is looking for. A few drawbacks: bare metal in/outlane guides, upper rollover lanes (PKE) almost impossible to see, ugly red DMD.

Overall positive impression; I would consider buying for myself though family and friends would probably find the tough gameplay somewhat frustrating.

Lots of fun. Elvira's not-so-subtle double-entendre humor is entertaining (if not family friendly). The spinning spider is a great gimmick (but the call-out for it could use some variety. "Stop the spider" gets a little old.)

Fun theme, fun shots, cool toys like the ferris wheel and mystery wheel. Great backglass with fireworks effects and the Reagans on the rollercoaster. The carnival barker callouts are classics ("Hey you, with the face!"). Scoring can be a little unbalanced - the plunge skillshot carries a lot of weight and the size of the gate jackpot is a huge swing factor. Overall a great looking, fun game.

One of my all-time favorites - a really neat take on the theme, sort of a theme (CFTBL) within a theme (drive-in movie). The creature hologram is a great gimmick and the shots/rules are a lot of fun. Also some of the best-looking backglass art I have seen - really stands out and would look nice in a home collection.

This is one of the machines that really got me into pinball. A nice array of shots, easy-to-understand rules (albeit not very deep) and the cannon toy is pretty cool. Having Arnie's voice is also very cool but that's about it as far as tying into the story of the movie - in that area the games falls a little short. But nevertheless it's one that kept me coming back and one that I would consider owning if I had a larger collection.

A really fantastic game. The lighting and artwork really are everything they are cracked up to be, and the integration of theme is exceptionally good. The LCD display adds a unique dimension, even if just for spectators (since it is hard to pay much attention to the screen while playing). Gameplay is certainly challenging, both in terms of learning the rules and then actually getting through all the various challenges. (I highly recommend reading a detailed rulesheet - it is easy to be lost without it.) I almost can't imagine ever completing Somewhere Over the Rainbow, but the challenge will keep me playing for a long time. Everybody in the family really likes the game!
