Very high energy. Fast. Loud. Bright. Complex. Has many modes (songs) to choose from when starting. Wish songs would start from where they left off (instead of starting over) when ball drains in middle of mode, but that's my only real complaint. There are only 3 songs that use the lower playfield, so I don't feel it's over-used, it's actually kinda hard to make those quick little loops! The cannon does take up visual space above the outlane, but you figure it out pretty quick. For some reason, feels very different game-play wise than any other pin I've played, so that's refreshing. I am an AC/DC fan, so this theme is definitely for me. Much more exciting and involving than all those '90's A listers. Honestly much more exciting than trading chickens in $10,000 castles.
I hope for more call-outs in future updates. Also feel it needs just a tiny bit more "crack" in the match animation!

If you let players-only rate this thing, it would have to be a top 5. This this is a rush when you get a good game going. So what if the dots are a little hazy at times? I'm tellin' ya, if you spend too much time watchin' em, you'll miss the ball.. this game's FAST. One of the MOST pure pinball fun to play there currently is. It is all about the shots, the flow, the lights, the sounds. It's more ACTION here than humor. Sometimes you want to laugh at a chicken joke, so go play MM or RFM. I, however, truly appreciate all the tweaking that Mr. Ritchie put into this playfield. Sweet. p.s. As with all modern games, keep your code updated for maximum fun and challenge!

My machine is currently working 100% and is a great, fun game. Early looking dots, tho, on most video modes, but they are actually very fun (3 different modes/games using DMD and "fire" button on lock-down bar). BEST USE OF COWS. MOOOOOOO, MEEEUUUUUUU, MOOOOOO...... Cows also sword fighting. You can kill polly the parrot if you tap the flippers fast when he's on screen (would that be 4 modes, then?) Black Rose loves to sink ships, she says "Beautiful!" Some old salty voice says "AARRGGH" when ball drains. I think the music composed for it was brilliant, sadly, the quality doesn't match up soundwise to the cleverness. If you find one with a good cannon, you'll see why it's a pleasure to play! Very pirate-y, but completely family friendly. Makes me want me rum ration!

I also played this at the PHOF when we were there as did my husband. We both thought it was hokey and plasticky, HOWEVER, we ended up getting a good deal on one locally and that dorky pin is the most played pin whenever folks come over. It is pretty humorous, especially for the ski community. It's kinda dated ski-wise, but very fun to add to a collection. I think it's easier to play with a buzz on than some of the other tougher drain-monsters we have. The dots are really well done! Instead of a ramp, the ball rides a little ski lift to the upper "ski field". The voice calls are perfect (has a gnarly-dude snowboard voice and a goofy fake austrian accent voice that tells you to go play wif a yo-yo and shove your ski pole up your =bleep=, of course the music is "wipe out"). If I get a chance, I'll post some pics, even tho our machine isn't perfect quality.... perhaps you'll enjoy the outfit the female skier is wearing on the translite (even spandex doesn't get THAT tight!)

I'm not sure why, but this is one of my favorite pins to play lately. It's just so different. I know there are those who think "Peter Pan" is a silly theme, but it's really more about Cpt. Hook . There's NO Robin Williams on it (a plus, I consider), and the artwork is very intricate and interesting- it's Paul Faris, after all. The layout is strange, like weird rabbit warrens going every which way. There's the obvious windcoaster circular ramp with traveling lights in the middle, which kind of reminds me of CFTBL (no whirlpool here, tho, and ramp is always open). The stuff at the top of the playfield is hard to see (just like CFTBL). No video modes (think Black Rose released the same year). And there is the ever-crowing rooster sound effect. Despite it's basic nature, bizarre layout, and the rooster, I still really enjoy this game! It's actually a lot harder to play than it appears, maybe that's what's holding it back....... I guess to each his own, eh?

Hard to imagine a prettier pin package! Classic layout, drop targets galor, and those mermaid ball traps! Playing it takes me back to 1981, and the "space noise" era it embodies. The fact that it is so different, with such a different theme than all the space/devil/fire themed machines of those years is a plus- I feel. Hard to find one still around with an original playfield in good shape. It's got the basics on the playfield, a nice layout, and goes "Death dive. Bwwwaaaha ha ha ha" when you tilt. What more do you need? I think this one is unique and classic enough to be your only pin if you could only have one!

This is a colorful, eye-catching machine and it's theme, for me, is like taking a mini trip to Reno or Vegas! The background music is a little corny, but I don't find it annoying. A couple of the shots are quite difficult. If you play a machine whose ball locks don't function well, then it will definitely ruin it for you. I probably wouldn't own this as a solitary machine, but I do enjoy it in our line-up of other pins. It uses the "extra ball" button in the game play frequently to let you cheat, and there's a little tribute to Joe Joos using the EB in attract mode. I don't know why it's not consistently top 50 unless people are playing examples that are not in good shape, but that's the rub with every game, isn't it? Once you learn the rules, it really is a fun game. You folks who like to stop by casinos on occasion will probably get into the theme more than the non-gambling crowd. My overall rating would probably be closer to 7.8 overall on a good player.
