I'm one of those new "older members" (>50 years old) that used to play "back in the day. My spots were hockey rinks in the winter and in the local bowling alley during the summer. This was when Capt Fantastic & Wizard were "new" games. I have nostalgia for those days. l plan on getting a game for the man cave and get back into playing.
I've been looking into the online communities out there and Pinside seems to be the best, for me.
I haven't made the plung and have yet to buy a machine. I am lurking around the classified ads, top rated comments, forums, etc. and am now going to seek some advice as "it's a whole new ball game" now.
I'm looking forward to chatting with the community and updating my profile with my game purchase, games played, scores, etc.

Good luck on the journey. I think you’ll find a lot of people here like you. The nostalgia is powerful for many of us. Then we discover the new machines.
