I grew up with birthday parties at Aladdin's Castle as one of my fondest memories. I appreciated pinball, but wasn't really "into" it until I saw Greg Maletic's TILT documentary. A few years later, we came across Special When Lit, and that sort of sealed the deal.

Our first machine was The Shadow, and Frankenstein, Twilight Zone, and Lord of the Rings joined it with shocking speed. We thought we would be OK, though, since at the most 5 machines would fit in the basement room we are putting them in. Then one night my husband pointed out how you could fit 2 more in the second basement room. Good point, hon. And after picking up LOTR, we noticed it isn't that hard to get pins up stairs. Certainly not as hard as we thought it would be. Last night we said, you know, we could fit a BUNCH more machines in the house if we weren't afraid of getting them up stairs.

Somebody help us, all our self-set limitations are dropping like flies and this morning I said, "Hon, we need to see a financial planner, and have him plan for our retirement; the one requirement is that we want to be on track to own and play as much pinball as possible. Do you think they will be on board with that request?..."

I use EVE as my initials because it is my middle name. I'm the reigning loop and grand champion on TS in our house.

Congrats on the first pin. The Shadow is one of my favorites on my wishlist.

Welcome to Pinside Young Grasshopper, ...er-um Rabscuttle! Pinside should help with that pinball fever you both caught. Sounds contagious. :-)

Love this! I wish my wife were more into pinball. We are up in Nashua from time to time too. Love the tax free shopping at Pheasant Lane. LOL And don't forget to tell the planner that these machines are investment that will go up in value. ;)
