Great machine with a variety of shots, lots of different challenges and a well thought out theme. Bowling is such a fun minigame and adds some good depth after you've spent time simply going for a high score. Scoring may be a bit multiball/jackpot heavy.

Lord of the Rings Stern, 2003
Overall, the machine seemed really buggy after playing it 10 or so times I had already encountered multiple problems with balls being stuck in odd places or the machine not responding quickly when certain shots were hit. Multiball was the worst; I would often have one ball stuck and only one in play. Everything involving the theme is nicely done. Finally, the dark play surface made it hard to see the ball. This would be a BAD machine without the great LOTR theme.
