As most people started out by playing games in arcades or shops , so did I. In the 1970's most games were electromechanical so I enjoyed playing some great games, pinball included although I unfortunately don't remember the names of the pinballs I played. I played a fair bit of pinball as it was the only game I could get a reasonable game out of.
In the mid to late 1990's I had retired from stockcar racing and was collecting wall mounted arcade games when I was asked to look at a pinball in Auckland for a collector in Australia. I had a look and described the condition to him. He didn't want it so I bought it. I paid too much for a 1967 Gottlieb Sing Along that wasnt working. I got that going after a few months then another EM turned up and another and a Dot Matrix and the rest is history.
I am lucky to have collected a large number of games , although it has massively exceeded my available space. I do have some to move on and I have basically all the games I set out to attain although there are a couple more that could push their way in if they become available.
Thanks to pinball I have met many other collectors in NZ and around the world.
