It must have been the summer of 1996. A friend of mine was offered the opportunity to buy one of his friend's parents pinball machine. He nor I had any clue what we were getting into, but hell I was 15. I knew everything. We drove up to Dearborn, MI with a tool box in hand. He grew up on a farm and I didn't know it at the time but I became an engineer. I make those comments because there was not YouTube or any real good way to research how to tear a machine down for transportation. After fumbling around the machine for a while we got it loaded into the SUV. She was all bundled up in blankets and we took her home. She was a beauty. A Stern Stampede, which supposedly was at Cedar Point for 2 seasons and then in this family's home after that. When we got it set back up there were a few issues. I had no idea how to fix it, but again thought how hard could it be. I got her working and from that moment I have been hooked.
