I had a chance to spend some time playing this machine recently, and really enjoyed it. I love the playfield artwork and backglass - they're colorful and fun, with arch lighting up top. The art on the cabinet didn't thrill me, but overall, I thought it was a very attractive game.

As far as gameplay, I put new titan rubbers on it and had cleaned and adjusted all switches and mechs, so it played very lively. Lots of good action up top when it bounced around the pop bumpers. I think the idea of having the red light under the center yellow stand-up target come on for the free ball is clever. It doesn't stay on for long, so you have to hit that yellow target quickly. I think like a lot of good pinball machines, it follows the maxim - easy to understand, not so easy to master.

The way to get a really good score on a ball is to hit both top rollover buttons, which will light all 4 pop bumpers for 10 pts instead of 1 pt, but will additionally light a lower rollover button just above the flippers for 100 pts. That's a lot of points for this game, so if you can get all 4 pops lit, roll over that bottom button a few times, and hit the yellow target above it (also 100 pts), you'll get a high score. Plus, it's visually very exciting at that point because all the lights are on, and you can feel the difference....I get that adrenaline rush when all the lights come on and the 100 pt chime is ringing.

I liked the layout too - it is easy to lose the ball through the out lanes, so you have to nudge a bit. Even though it has the 2 inch flippers, you can sometimes catch the ball and aim more carefully for that yellow target. And trying to get the ball past the pops and back up to the top of the pf is tricky, but always fun to try. There are 4 rollover switches, and if you hit them all, you're rewarded with a loud knock and an extra ball. You can hit two of them off the plunge, so there's some skill involved there. I think it's a well thought out design by Steve Kordek.

I like the sound of EM's too, and this one doesn't disappoint. The hundreds chime has a wooden box and has a beautiful "soft" tone - the 10's chime is a typical bell, but I can hear when my score changes to the next 100 while I'm playing with that woodbox chime....very nice!

Have to say, I enjoyed this game a lot - had I been playing pinball in 1962, I'd have pumped some dimes into this one. I'd like to own one.

As everyone else has mentioned, it's almost like having 2 games in 1 - you can play the pop bumpers/kickout holes up top for the safe points, or live dangerously and try for all those drop targets near the drains. There's quite a rush when you do get all the drops and those 2 black horseshoes come back for 5,000 each - which, in 5-ball setting, is alot of points and makes it even more tempting. Personally, I love the artwork - the bright colors are attractive and it's not too cartoony. It plays fast and mine feels "smooth" too, if you know what I mean. And of course, I love the chimes!
Ultimately, I judge a game on whether or not I want to keep playing it, and I keep coming back to this one and trying for those darn drop targets! It's a really well-designed game.
