After a nine year wait I finally bought a TBL. The early machines had some issues but they seem to all be sorted out. Kudos to Barry, Rensch and Company for bringing DP back from what seemed an early demise. Mine plays like a dream. Oh, and the code is finished with a nice balance of rules, not too simple or complex.
It has just about everything including a fun upper and lower playfield, spinner, saucer, subway, two bash toys and lots of targets. There are more than 100 lit playfield inserts which is amazing. I like the look and feel of an old-style pin where you collect the letters in character names. Most newer pins shortcut this by minimizing lit inserts and noting the progress in the video display only.
Most of the parts are Williams so as others have said, it plays like a Williams, which makes it easy to maintain. The build quality is outstanding.
In addition, the theming is among the best ever. The movie is ranked near #200 all-time on IMDB which is high for a cult film. If you haven't seen it then you are missing out. I really don't understand how anyone could not like this pin. Playing it puts a smile on my face.
My only complaint would be the lack of licensing for the original songs. This can be fixed in the aftermarket but since the pin isn't shipped that way I feel the need to ding it a star. At least the sound quality is excellent, much better than my RUSH LE. Stern should take notes.

This game has just about everything that is mechanically fun about pinball...a magnet, spinner, drop targets, diverter, captive ball, scoops, ball lock and a third flipper with satisfying shots. The shots are smooth and fast. I dislike the term "buttery" but it does apply here. In fact, after dialing Rush in, this is the smoothest machine that I've ever played. The rules are fun and there are lots of unique modes and multi-balls. My only ding would be the sound quality of the music, which should be better on such a pricey machine. However, the great rockin' song selection, live video quality, band call-outs, foil cabinet art, stellar light show and mirrored backglass put this machine in class of it's own.

I was a little hesitant about this table because I am not a huge fan of Alice Cooper. However, I played ACNC at Lyons Pinball and I kept coming back to it over any other table. In fact, I liked it so much that I have one on order. Lots of interesting and unique shots, rules and features. When was the last time you saw a machine without pop bumpers? Overall the theme is tightly integrated with amazing art and sound and the shot difficulty will keep me interested for a long time. Highly recommended!

I have the Smaug version of this game and I think it is the best art package of all time. Rules were a little weak at first but with recent update, now on par with the best games. My only complaint is with the upper flipper, which has limited value. Other than that, an amazing pinball experience. Everyone enjoys playing it!

My favorite pinball of all time modernized. It plays exactly like the original and is brand new with upgraded LED lighting, video, and shaker. My only small gripe would be the call-out clarity could be improved.

Highly recommended game. I currently own a MM Remake and it is fabulously done. My biggest complaint is the sound. It is still hard to understand many of the hilarious comments. Other than that, the LED lighting and shaker motor is a nice addition.

This is a great game for beginners. There are many multiballs and they are easy to start. Also, the theme is great with each of the three LOTR movies having its own multiball. In addition, there are two modes for each movie and the shots really make sense. My only complaint would be that the game is almost too easy and doesn't punish for missed shots, with the exception of the center ring.

This is probably the deepest rule set ever. I have a LOTR and a TSPP and LOTR is a better game for beginners but TSPP is the ultimate challenge. The resettable TV timer is genius IMO. Also, the five flippers and upper playfield is great. Getting a ball back on the couch during multiball is supremely challenging.
