Crosstown is my Game

Having played this game for hours on end in the mid 60's, I had a nostalgic burst when I found this pin for sale in St. Louis. Drove down from Wisconsin with my Bro and bought it. As bought, all mechanicals worked great. But with all pins of this age, I knew some resto was in order. Now, I am a newbie to the pin world, and I have searched and downloaded lots of good stuff on this machine as well as restoration tips, dos and don'ts. What a tremendous value you pinheads offer to us newbies! Now, for my machine: It has seen its days in smoke filled bars and arcades. The cab is in need of a cleaning and/or repaint (no problem for me). the backglass shows some signs of de-lamination and some idiot repairs/touch-ups, but in all is very good condition. the playfield is sound but the top inserts are cupped and have to be rebuilt or leveled. I have done the following: replaced both button and coil flipper switches; re-built the flippers with the Gottlieb rebuild kit; replaced all rubber and adjusted the switches; cleaned and waxed the playfield; replaced the power cord with 3 prong and grounded the game.

This game is such a blast to play and the "Grand Canyon" (the gap between the flippers) is just how I remember the game. My 4 year old Grandson is already hooked on it. What a treat to share with him! Hope all is well in the pinball world, and I look forward to reading these posts as well as sharing my experiences with you all!
