My intro to pinball

It was about six years ago when my brother called me up because somebody had a pinball for sale. Not just any pin, but a blast from our past, CYCLONE! My brother Mike is 2 years older than I, and as kids we used to walk to the gas station near our home,  I think it was a 7-11, and we would use up all our extra quarters  on Cyclone. We loved it, Good times and great memories!
The guy that had the Cyclone machine for sale had about eight other pins in his basement as well. Not just older vintage pins but new, modern, brilliantly lit LED  machines with awesome video display and incredible audio! We were mesmerized!

It wasn't but a year later that my brother Mike went on to purchase Game of Thrones Premium by Stern, and then eventually Ghostbusters as well. By then, I had also picked up my first Pin from Aminis in STL. Mine was Guardians of the Galaxy LE by Stern. Although I wasn't into the whole "Guardians" thing, I absolutely loved the game play, the lights and sounds enough to buy. Great soundtrack too. I did eventually lose some interest in the game and my kids weren't playing it much anymore either so I sold it back to Aminis. A couple sad years go by Pin-less , until my discovery of Jersey Jack's Guns n Roses machine! CP Pinball near my home in STL had a GnR machine. What an awesome place with over 100 different machines to play! After that day, I had to have it! With many months of research and completely obsessing over the game pass, until just recently, I found an LE model close to home for a "reasonable" price. Still very expensive of course, but a couple grand less than new in box. I've had it for a few weeks now, and although it has a few quirks that need to be addressed, I absolutely love the game! The only other game in consideration for me before landing on the GnR was Sterns new Godzilla machine. I wanted the premium model but it looked as though it would be several months away on the order list and I just could not wait any longer to have a pin back in my home.

In addition to pinball, my first love is Foosball. I've been competing in Tornado Foosball tour events (and local tournaments) for about 16 years. Then we've got disc golf and of course Pinball. I really want to take advantage of playing in some pinball tournaments sometime soon as well, just so I can see how the real masters of the game get it done. It's been an experience, and what a ride! Looking forward to reaching out and meeting up with others that share the same passion for the game.

Great story and great game to end up with. I've got both GnR and Godzilla and they are both keepers for me. I prefer league play over tournaments and they are wildly different.

Love the Story. I played this Machine 2 years ago and fell in love with it. Just had it delivered 2 weeks ago. Such an amazing machine. I want to add the Topper next. I found someone who bought 2 of the GNR LE editions and still had one unopened. I can't believe how amazing these new machines are. Jersey jack is the real deal! I also have a Black Knight 2000 machine from 1989. And next week I have the Mandalorian coming next week. I would love one more in the future. Always wanted Medieval Madness. Love Pinball!!!

Awesome story, always super cool for an old hobby to recaptivate you. Pinball has a way of doing that

CP hosts monthly tournaments, one of my favorite places to play. Hope to see ya there sometime!
