A brief history.

Like many new to the hobby, I discovered pinball through Pinball Arcade on the iPad. I grew up in arcades and have been a gamer all my life, but never understood pinball machines and why people liked them. Pinball Arcade changed all that by introducing me to the fact that pinball machines actually have rules and goals, even narratives and story progression. Something that real pinball machines are horrible at communicating to the player. A player who just walks up and throws a dollar in, bats the ball around a bit and gets 30 seconds of play time and wonders what the purpose of it all was...

So it started with falling in love with the digital version of Theatre of Magic, then finding a real one in a bar where I played that extensively. Then I was encouraged to join a pinball league, and the rest as they say, is history.

A short history. I've only been playing for 2 years now. But I have just bought my first machine and I see no signs of stopping.

Hi Mark,
I have just got back into pinball myself. Brought two machines late last year TZ and Metallica Prem. Like both machines but had a lot of probs with TZ. What a learning I didn't realize how much maintenance these require but enjoy working on them.
I'm in the Hawkesbury area of Sydney and would like to get into some pinball leagues but don't no where to start. I retired early so heaps of time on my hands. Cheers Gavin
