GTF is one of those machines that just NAILS it for location play...but might be a rough sell to the home crowd. The lighting, the music, the ultra-camp video clips, smashing the center tank, it all works in a barcade setting so well. But as far as owning it...the kinetic satisfaction of smashing the right-there tank targets would be diminishing returns, I imagine. And it might be me, but I can't unsee the mismatched legs of the main femme on the backglass. It's like, there's one leg and then.....pirate peg leg? What happened there?

Gomez once again shows his deep experience with amazing flow and angles. So much to shoot for with the upper flipper (unlike, say, TS4). Very cool mechs, code is early but already fun. Basically the ultimate pinball love letter to Bond and 60's spy movies.

Extremely fun to shoot, looks and sounds great. Already feels like you're playing a James Bond movie, and code will only improve. A creative layout that shows Gomez still has some genuine inventiveness up his sleeve.

Finally got some time on a Mando. Very fun to flip, feels flowy and yet has such separated playfield regions. Upper playfield with the one flipper, I thought it was going to be too fast and random to be much fun, but you can actually manage some expert timing to hit specific targets, it's more skill-based than I thought it would be. It's great use of that area, too. Lots to do, lots of modes, great light show and sounds. Also, felt very solid, like an old 90's B/W build, it's hard to explain, but the whole machine felt "heavier" (in a good way).

Absolutely nails the theme with the complexity of the rules, it really feels like Rick and Morty. It's mostly a clunky brickfest, but that seems to fit here, I don't know why, it's like it's a part of the machine's personality that it shoots awkwardly. Lack of cool toys makes it feel a little like a homebrew. Voice clips might get repetitive if you notice that sort of thing. Since it was made by Spooky, if feels very different than Stern or JJP. It feels crafted with affection, like they loved the theme.

Nothing particularly revolutionary, but damn, it really nails the fun factor. The retro game animations and audio flashbacks to arcade classics give this game a style that is incredibly charming.

Just got to play this a few times, at a bar which also had an Alien, an IMDN, a Batman 66, etc., and I was surprised to discover that this was the most fun pin to play. Hard to say why, it seemed relatively modest in its approach and layout, but it just had a tremendously high fun factor.

Like many have said, this game's layout is really well thought out and is flowy fun. Even if the band is not one of your faves, it's damn good pinball music.

Like so many have said, the code updates are turning this into an epic Batman homage. It really feels like playing the show, in the same way TWD evolved. My score is also based on the fact that the code is not at 1.00 yet, but is going to just keep getting better and deeper, considering the coder involved.

Like has been reported elsewhere, the problem with this game isn't the layout, which is the tried-and-true Metallica layout. It also is a stunner, cabinet-wise. It's the coding...the clips not only going on endlessly over and over without feeling connected to the game, but the attempt to use unknown voice-actors to dub over the stars in the movie clips, hoo boy. It's cringe-worthy. I don't necessarily blame Stern, because they might have had no other choice. But the visual interactivity on other titles is missing here. The Groot arms look pretty neat, though.

Having played DI a couple of dozen times now, I can happily confirm that it does feel like a masterwork, a kind of magnum opus of a playfield. It just has more going on than other games, and (from what I can tell) more depth. And I admit, I was one of those people who felt disappointment at the title and theme. I thought, really? You get a shot an original IP, and it's about a cell phone? But Lawlor and JJP have the last laugh on this one. The phone is a clever organizing principle for a city undergoing disaster after disaster. DI will become one of those seminal machines, like MM and LOTR.
