About my time in pinball

I have been a pinball player since 1976 and a collector since 1992. I worked in the industry as a programmer and game designer for Data East and Sega in Chicago from 1993 to 1999. I later did some contract work for Stern between 2000 and 2002. Most of the programming I did was dot matrix display work, while the design work included creating the game rules, laying out playfield inserts and determining the text on them, and writing scripts for sound recording sessions.

Being in the pinball business was hard work but great fun, and I will forever treasure the friendships I made during those days. It is always a kick to walk into a location and see one of the games I worked on long ago still entertaining people and making money. -Orin Day
