I bought this game from the Replay FX sale. They had done one thing that I think made this game WAY better. They removed one of the captive balls so it is way harder to spam the Stewie playfield. As a result, I find it much better balanced and way more fun. In fact, I find it a lot of fun! Funny too, but I do quite enjoy the show so maybe I am just crass and juvenile!?

The more I play it the more I love it. The combo rules take it over the top. There are different ways to get points. I love pushing the record (mode start) value. Usually I drain before I can exploit a big multiplier! I am now trying to get several combos before I start a song or multiball. The Weapon is genius as a reward for doing the 1-2-3.
Stern needed some play testing before release, that is clear. But now all fixed up by the modders and it is butter. Best game ever? Possibly! Not kidding!

This is one of my fav multi player games. it is super fun to try to "steal" the 10x and 100x shots from your opponents and leave them on 1x. Unbalanced, yes! Fun, super yes! Good times, and both this game and I were born in 1965. A fine year indeed. Oh, and everyone loves the dancing cowboy in the backbox!

Just another incredible game by Elwin. The guy is 3 for 3! I do hope they add a little more depth beyond Trophy Mania. I have never gotten there, but close. I guess that is the end of the game, effectively. The rules are great as they stand and it shoots like butter. Looks great too!
I will say it was overwhelming at the start with the gem rules (and still is a bit), but there is so much greatness here. I am a person who digs deep and studies rules, for the record. I can see that it might be too much for people who aren't into that level of study. Still , I think you can have fun just shooting instead of shooting, planning, shooting, planning....

I knocked it one notch on toys and gimmicks. doesn't have one super cool thing that I thought deserved top marks. after that, i gave the game perfect marks.
i own a lot of games, mostly Sterns. I love all my games, like 280 lb babies. But this game blows my mind. the CE package is the best pinball presentation i have ever seen. it shoots great AND the rules are already amazing and will only get better (I am rating this on 1.14). Best risk reward game i have ever seen.
It has risk reward before you start a song as you get very tempted to build song value. Then it has risk reward IN the song as you are tempted to keep going. My high score so far is 27 million and I have already blown a 29 million point jackpot. So much work down the drain! makes you want to keep pressing start. i do admit it is exhausting tho. losing all those points can make you very frustrated as you spent a lot of time building the jackpot. Long playing game when you are playing well. Be warned. Still, I have Iron Man, Mata Hari and 8BD for when I only have 5 minutes and want to get several games in!

I have had the game for almost a year now. I love it! Great how it makes you shoot everything to fill the grid. I did have to make it harder in the settings and open the outlanes fully. Was too easy.

I have been playing this game for about 9 months now. I really like it. It is very non-linear. I am frequently looking up at the display to figure out what my next strategy is before I wander off into another frenzy of shots and scoring. There is some real genius in the ruleset. The shots are satisfying and you can get some real flow going! It is the first JJP I have owned, but won't be the last. One of my fav games ever!

Love it. I find it has excellent balance between kick-ass and being able to get deep fairly frequently. I often find myself close to Immolation or Save Xandar. Close, but not quite. This is the way you want it. I like having to think about which mode to start at which point in the game. I have the Cleland sound upgrade which makes the game WAY better than stock. I knocked the sounds and music section based on the stock lameness.

I love the code on this game. I also love the variability in terms of how to attack the game. Always moving towards Hand of the King, but different routes. Sometimes, I change strategy and start shooting the spinner when it gets up to a high value. I do wish the art had been darker and more medieval. Overall, love it.
Update. Latest code using the button more is cool. Even more strategy for an already deep game. Tough code for newbies tho... Still think the art package could have been epic and it is only fine.

I have really been enjoying my Dale Jr. However, I have spent more time adjusting the game features in the software than any other game I have! It was WAY too easy on the default settings. It was non stop multi balls. I have now made it as hard as possible to spell R-A-C-E (changed 3 or 4 feature settings I think). Now to light the lamps to collect a letter you must shoot the 3 rt drops. These are hard to hit and send the ball out of control. I changed lots of other settings too, but I think this was the most important to make the game more difficult. I also opened the outlanes as much as possible without removing posts. The game is now hard and fast and has good flow. Loving it and I couldn't care less about Nascar! Finally, I agree with some that some modes are worth more than others. So be it. Time some out then if you want. There is always something else important to shoot for.... like those dangerous drops on the right!

for some reason this game does not resonate with me. I keep playing it, thinking I am missing something. good game, not great. In my book anyhow.

Fast game but if you can get it humming.... Wow. For the era, there is a lot going on.

This one does not rate as high for me. I like it, but I like a lot of other games more. For me, I think it is a little light in the rules compared to other games.

Played about 10 games at tpf. Thought I wouldn't like it. But I really liked it! Will revisit after more plays and better understanding of the rules.

Knocked it a bit for early code. Will revisit. Very good game already. One of the best looking games I have ever seen!
July 2020 update. Code great now. Shoots great. May replace music. I like it but could be better. Really good game!

Great looking game. Unbalanced scoring IMO. If u don't get the side targets and 8 ball on your first ball u may as well restart if u r going for a high score. For an old game still fun but I like mata hari better.
Edit years later. I now like this better than Mata Hari as there is more going on. I changed my settings and now the saucer has the bonus multipliers applied to collect bonus. This change means you must shoot the whole playfield and the saucer becomes very important as do the multipliers. Great game.

A great game. Not much to add on top of the accolades of others. Only comment is the recent prices have pushed my pin purchases elsewhere.

I liked the pro more than I thought I would. Not a big fan of the band but the game is really fun already. Bought mople on the spot. I bet this code gets great like acdc. Great art!

Played it a lot today. Very fun game. Top 20 for sure.
Update 9 months later. Now I own it. Very unusual game that is great in a larger collection. The strategy and rules are more interesting than most think! Really fun to play and that is what it is all about!

Can't wait for the code update. Stunning otherwise.
10 months on I have downgraded rating. Code still leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Flow not great. Some shots clanky. It is a very good looking game still!
May 2015 update: now one of my fav games. the bitter taste of the wait for code has not left me. However, I find myself playing this game a lot and I love it. flow is better now that I can actually make the shots. practice makes perfect.
July 2020 update: Bitter taste on code wait has finally faded. really like the game. about to put Pinball Mix tunes into it, which will make me love it even more. Really underrated now.

Spiderman is my new favourite. I have never played a game before that was so fun so quickly.
Update: Over a year later. As I have learned the double and triple scoring rules, this game is now NEVER leaving my house.

The LE will be way better. But the pro is good! Fast fast and good flow.

My initial feeling is that, over time, my rating will increase. The game has a really solid feel to it! I think Tron has this same feel, but Iron Man and LOTR don't (not that they feel bad). Wondering if Stern has done something different recently?
Early days yet, but I am tempted to buy Transformers, and that must be a good sign!
I have now played the LE. It is way better! Until I have played it more, I will leave my ratings the same. LE so good....so far.

Call this sentimental, but I used to love this machine! Tho, I was 12....
Would love to play it again to see if I need to reevaluate.

Have since played it again and it is still fun. Downgraded my rating a bit.
Gotta love the chimes going forever when you get five times 29k bonus!
This game is a keeper as it has a fun factor that some newer games don't have.

I guess I don't have to love em all.... Wanted to love it as I found one for sale locally that was in good shape. A half dozen games in, I lost interest. Maybe that is a good thing? Wife will only tolerate some number of pins in the basement. Don't want to find out what that number is just yet!

Not a fav. Disliked the gun in the backglass. I feel cruel, but that's life.

I'm liking Tron. This machine felt really "solid" like an older machine from the 1990s. Reminded me of the feel of Creach. Interestingly, the same feel in Transformers so maybe Stern has changed something recently?

I reserve the right to change my rating later as I have only played about 8 times. I am in the process of buying one, so will revisit.
I feel the rule set is deep enough to keep me happy for a very long time. I think it looks really cool too!

Found it addictive. But felt the top left of the playfield was completely blocked. Also felt the flippers were WIDE apart with the predictable result.
Still want to play it more.....

I own Iron Man and really enjoy it. The fast ball times are frustrating, but I think that makes me want to play it more! The other machine I own is LOTR and I like the contrast between them. IM is really fast and less strategic. For the record, my wife and girls like IM better. I am not sure, but I sure like them both! Update: I now own TZ too and still find myself playing ALOT of iron man! I am a big fan.
Update almost a year later. IM has lost a little in the ratings as compared to my other new games.

I especially like the long ball times and the strategy to get towards destroy the ring. I like that some multi balls last quite a while too. My other machine is Iron Man where the ball times are so short! I like that they are different that way.
