When I was 9 years old, my dad bought a White Water pinball machine and put it in our living room. I thought my mom was going to have a cow, but she let my dad have his fun. I wasn't event tall enough to see the upper playfield, so my dad got me a tall chair. I would sit in front of that machine for hours, having no idea what I was doing other than keeping the ball alive. The first time I got multiball, I called my dad at work "Dad, I got multiball!!!"
A few years down the line, he promised that machine would one day be mine. I would just have to buy a house or get married, and the machine would be my gift.
Well, in 2018 the love of my life and I bought a house. And not shortly after came the White Water! Now we both love to spend time together trying to get the high score. Personally, learning the machine and fixing it has brought me so much joy. I can't wait to have it in fully working order so I can invite my dad to come put the high score on it.
