Greenhorn

Was riding my bike one evening near my house and I look into my neighbors garage and all I see is pretty lights. Having had a few confidence builders that night, I decided to go see what all the fuss was about. Turns out my neighbor who lives barely a block away has this amazing collection of pins and he gave me the tour and let me play some of the machines. The line was in the water. I was asked to join a local pinball league in the winter of 2022 that spanned 10 weeks and I got to play on a lot of really cool pins and meet some really cool people. Hook, line and sinker. Count me in!

I've always liked all things mechanical. When I was really young, I remember some friends had an old dusty pinball machine in the basement. Every time we'd visit I'd gravitate to that thing and was always in awe of all the pieces--especially the coin mech. I don't recall the machine, it didn't work great, but I didn't care. Fast forward 30 years and now I want my own pin.

Cheers!

Great story. Thanks.

You are lucky to have a neighbor who you share the hobby with. By all means, you should get your pin. You might start by checking with your neighbor to see if he or someone he knows is looking to sell. Getting a new game is great, but not as much to tinker with as if you get an old one.

Wish I had neighbors with pins!!! I'm currently the neighbor with pins, but would love to try out other machines and bond with other Pin heads!
