Jags Pinball Story

Aloha to all my fellow pinsiders! I bought my first Pin back in in January 2009 as a birthday present to myself. It was a Williams 1972 "Super Star" EM game that was working about 75% and that I remembered playing back in my high school days. I was living in Los Angeles taking care of my fiancee's house while she was away so I was bored and figured it would be a fun project. Got it home and discovered that it must have been a home for a family of rodents for quite some time. Cleaned it all up, installed new rubbers and bulbs, and section by section got everything working! I now had the bug!My next purchase was about 2 months later. Being a Trekie I'm always on the lookout for Star Trek related Items. Researched the internet and discovered the 1979 Bally "Star Trek" pin. Picked that up for a very good price and it was working almost 100%. Replaced the rubbers and bulbs, removed the battery - lucky there was no leakage - and replaced it with a capacitor. It's now working at 100%.My third machine I found when I discovered the existance of "cocktail tables". I just had to get one of those cute little things for myself! Found the 1979 Game Plan "Star Trip" on Craigslist two months after getting "Star Trek". The guy wanted $350 but it had no CPU board. I talked him down to $150. Picked up a new CPU board from Jim at Echo Lake, popped it in, and it worked perfectly! Once again replaced rubbers and bulbs and ended up with a great cocktail table pin!About a month after getting the "Star Trip" I had to unexpectedly return back to my home in Hawaii. I put the machines into storage in my fiancee's garage and they remained there for 4 years. Fast forward to June of 2013. My fiancee sells her house so I need to bring everything back to Hawaii. Of course the three pins are my first priority to bring back home with me! Loaded them up into a U-Box container and shipped them home to Hawaii. I set them up and amazingly everything worked just as I left them! It's so good to hear hear the chimes and the electronic bleeps and to see the flahsing lights and whizzing ball once again! I'm now working on upgrading to LED bulbs so that the machines will run cooler and to get a bit more "visual pop".It's interesting to note that all three of my Pins have the word "Star" in them. This was totally a coincidence but definately kind of cool! So now I'm always on the lookout for any other pins I can add to my collection that have the word "Star" in the title. Not likely to find any here in Hawaii though. Thanks and Aloha from Hawaii!!
