Hello fellow Pinsiders! My name is Johnny 5 and I am new to the hobby but have played pinball most of my life. I grew up with a Bally "Wizard" (1975) my dad got us when I was about 10. My brother and I would play for hours. I've always enjoyed tinkering with electrical gadgets and soon tried modifying the machine. I unwound some of the coils a little to get them to hit harder and the machine became much more challenging. I still have the Wizard and play it regularly. Every time I play it, it brings me back to when I was a kid.
As I grew up of course my interests changed and I became addicted to loud v8 engines. I now run an auto shop but have returned to pinball as one of my favorite things to do. I also play music. I am selling all of the cars I have collected and want to buy pins.
I now have three machines and would like to get more. I have two close friends who have started pin collections. We are looking into becoming members of the local pinball league (Duke City Pinball) and would like to have enough machines to be included as one of the stops for their events. Everyone here in the Pinside commmunity seems very nice, helpful and in the know about the machines out there. I thank you all for creating such a cool site and keeping pinball alive. Showing the youth of today that life is not lived in front of a video screen.
