Month 1) Not really a hard-core pinballer. My primary objective was completed when I got a copy of Embryon, my childhood favorite. To be fair, it was the only table I ever played with any consistency. Pinball is fun.
Month 2) Where to now? Do I dare become a collector? No room, no money, no time... Sure why not?
Month 3) I think I want to get one or two of Embryon's sister wide-bodies and I might be happy with them as my retro collection. I've researched them all pretty thoroughly.
Month 5) 'Pinball' now autofills at the top of most of my search sites. I lay awake wondering if my children are too old to sell or trade. Is that still illegal?
Month 7) I'm pretty certain a 1500 mile search radius is reasonable when looking for another machine. That's still considered 'road trip' territory. I may be headed that way anyhow, right?
Month 8) Who knew there were sooooo many pinball games!
Month 9) I think I have a problem.
Month 10) Why are all the machines on my list 6 States away?
Month 12) I've added 3 more machines to my want list. Research indicates these are all good candidates for a cohesive and sensible collection; good chi demands it.
Month 13) I now have a seccond machine and it wasn't on my list. It was a good deal so no reasonable person would pass it up--right? I think 1 new game per year is reasonable.
Month 16) Wow! is it a year already? I just got offered a game on my wishlist at a doable price. Can't pass it up...
Month 21) Oh my! An estate sale offers a killer deal on a machine that's not on my list and I have no room, but I know is a good game! Good thing I have some extra cash laying around. 2+>2-
