I've owned this for 3 years now and I simply did not expect the fun to last -- but it has. No, it's not really pinball, but as a compact bowler, it is unexpectedly fun when competing with other people. For solo, use, you kind of just feel like you are practicing rather than playing a game, and that can be a chore.
4 players, two displays, scoring seems authentic, and sound effects are great -- you'd think you are at a bowling alley. The pin mechanism is a fabulous toy, but of course, it's the only one. The ball returns and oversized balls complete the theme well.
I can't stress how fun this dumb pinball machine is in large groups. It get's more playtime, and creates more excitement than anything else I have. Immediately easy to understand, mildly difficult to master. 3 game modes add a bit of variety to an otherwise straight-forward game. But here's the thing, real bowling only has one mode. So if you are okay with the monotony of actual bowling, than this adds a game-room feel to it while still being compact.
