I wrote a review already. In short, the flow is good and hurry up shots can be fun. There is no real gimmick toy and the shots you have are smooth but unsatisfying. The animations are familiar. The pro model death star lights up but that's it. The modes are just different colored lights and can be challenging but not really fun. I was disappointed. Pretty repetitive. It got old fast.

It has good flow and few dead shots. I like the rescuing damsel feature but it can be difficult to power the ball up the ramp to that position. It's a fun pin for sure. The trolls could have used better lighting. Destroying the castle is a unique feature and the game has the feel of just one more game. I don't know if it's worth it's price.

I like this pin overall. I trend towards faster games and this definitely has a great pace. I actually enjoy the artwork and lights and believe it is indicative of the overall theme. It's futuristic and admittedly sterile. This pin could have used an active magnet area. The Enterprise toy is underwhelming. It's also not the deepest pin which is often a trade off for speed. If you're a fan, I think you'll be happy to own this game but have another pin available. It can get repetitive.

There are some tight shots and unique flow to this pin. The channel from the initial plunger shot should be more offset because it lends to ball drains. The prison is a nice interactive feature. The well zombie is mediocre and poorly placed. I found the rules simple and varied enough to be entertaining. I can see it doing well in a small collection. Pick your shots wisely and be ready to push the pin around right up to tilt otherwise your going to deal with many drains. It's not really colorful but it follows the post apocalyptic gore theme well. Nice game.

A decent pin with good flowing long shots. The slam ramp is well integrated and the pop up gofer blocks are great fun to hit. It does not have a deep rule set and I can see it getting repetitive in a small collection. The pop bumpers are ill placed.

There should be two versions of "pro" at Stern. "Pro" and "Pro-lite". If Metallica and Ghostbusters pro models are compared to this pin, then this is the lite version.

I liked the flow of the ramps but everything else was a real yawner for me. Theme, lighting, toys, skill shot were meh. Too many better models for the money. It's not as bad as Avatar but not better than Star Trek. For me, in terms of fun, it's on the Transformers level.

This could be the best Stern pro that has come out in the last 10 years.

I always wanted to play and glad I did. Fantastic light show by even today's standards. Rules aren't super deep but its a classic. Fun for a small collection. Rudy is a great toy. It's fun to smash a smart ass. The two plunger set up is a set up to line a good shot for Rudy. Cabnet is meh. Very addictive.

I did not find this to be a fun pin. I thought the action was stop and go and a spongy feel to the flippers. The rules are not very intuitive at all. The artwork was OK. I didn't want to spend time on it. It felt lethargic. Perhaps it grows on you?

Rating this after only owning it for two days. Normally I wait about a month but the sheer amount of time my family and I have been playing this pin, I have to say, it's absolutely fantastic. The theme is ok with us as a soccer family but even if this pin was rethemed, the playfield and flow is incredible. Rules are perfect.

I don't like the magnasave but it's a cool feature, just not very useable. It's also not the best looking pin but I don't care, I'm not an art collector.

If you want to step up to a pinball with rules and flow deep enough to keep you coming back for more...or thinking about it if you're not playing it...then this game might be for you!

This game is going to go up in value IMHO. I find a good mix of flow and stop and go shots. The kickback is not as fast as IM or even JP but combine that with a couple decent moving toys and you can see they wanted this to be a stellar pin. The SOUND is incredible. It's like having a bose sound bar on the pin. Very immersive. The rules seem to be a little confusing and you get a lot of jump shots where the ball ends up where it isnt supposed to. I've played a lot of games on this and think it's underrated.

I couldn't get into this game at all. There was little flow due to the poorly thought out design. I was so distracted by this that I barely could take into account the other aspects of the game. I guess the art was ok and they playfield toys at least looked like they could be cool but i couldn't really incorporate them into a coherent whole. I walked away from it with the third ball left. Owners or people who have put more time into the game may feel differently. This is a game that doesn't really grab the casual player and I only see it's value dropping.

Avatar is ok. It's not nearly as exciting as other games in this era and the bumper layout was really poor. Many times, you can exit the bumper for a SDTM shot. It has at least one shot to the "cyborg" that's one of the tightest squeezes in pinball. The sound is ok but it's definitely not a sonic experience. Kind of sparse really. The backglass is beautiful but the dmd is mediocre given the movie was a visually ahead of it's time. Playfield toys are....well...sparse. I don't know...I was underwhelmed. I tried to like it more.

i couldn't rate this game any lower. The third "flipper" sux. Everything else is utterly forgettable. If you see this game for sale it's likely because the owner feels the same way. If you are a big Monopoly fan, you might feel differently but I cannot fathom Monopoly people and pinball people ever really crossing paths. Horrible idea to create this pin. Honestly, it is the worst pin I have ever played.

Good older game. Excellent playfield artwork and reaching "blackout" with the pulsating GI is still cool. The cabinent artwork is mediocre. I'd throw in a bunch of LEDs to capture the space theme and then just leave it alone. I still think blackout is fun mostly for sentimental reasons. It's more forgiving than gorgar and I find the ratio of distance to targets pretty perfect for a game it's age. You could definitely buy a much worse game from that era.

I think parts of x-men flow faster than Iron man in some sections. If I was in charge of design, i would have gotten rid of the scoop near the pop bumpers. The magnets in this game really add to some chaos. I played the pro version and the main toy does little other than to interfere with the balls path. Many shots are tight so younger plays who like to flail away with the flippers will probably get frustrated. I liked the cabinent and backglass. I'd own one in a larger collection.

This "pro" model is a top 10 pin IMHO. Mod it out or whatever but the "field" version probably did more for a resurgance in pinball interest than any of it's recent predecessors. The sounds and light show are incredible!!! I cannot emphasize that nearly enough. If your 80 year old grandpa can't walk up to this pin and play a game and leave with a smile then pull the plug on him. This game is simply fantastic and the theme and gameplay cannot capture the essence of rock and roll excess in a pin anymore than this did. This is a fantastic effort on Stern's part. The rules are simple yet deep enough to be highly addictive and the playfield toys are incorporated nicely. It's not over the top. It's beginning to end what pinball was always meant to be.

This is a grail pin for me personally. I'm not a huge fan of the IM movies although they were good. I find this game to be bare boned pinball. This is no "thinkers" game. It's not stop and go but rather fast and furious with a highly addictive element. The lights and sounds are totally k/a and it's actually pretty loaded with features that keep you coming back for more. You want a pin where after the third ball you and your guests step back and say "holy sh##" then this is the one for you.

I like this pin. I played the "pro" model about a dozen times so take this review as "a dude walks up to a pin and plays a few times" reaction. Don't hold me to this as a stand alone pin in a collection. I found the lighting and artwork very "early Ramones" - like they used in the old "sniffin glue" magazines in the early 80's. This game is hard. You have to take great shots and "fuel" is darn near impossible off the right flipper. You risk SDTM shots constantly so be prepared to give this game some convincing bumps. NOT as good as ac/dc only in terms of flow but I like speedy games.

Yikes. This game is terrible. No flow. Bad toys. There are much older games with more going on than this. The back glass promises more than the game delivers.

This game is a MUST play at minimum. If you've never watched the movie, you DON'T have to to love this pin. This is one of the most well thought out playfields I've seen in a long time. Not one but two animated playfield toys, excellent gory dmd displays, easy to understand but hard to complete objectives...this pin truly could stand alone in a one pin collection. The flow is excellent, the multiball is fast and furious as well as the lightshow. I just played this two days after playing Rolling Stones...hands down Starship Troopers wins in all regards at a fraction of the cost. "Join Now!!"

Fireball II beats it predecessor period...end of story. Anyone that has actually played both can attest to that. Fireball II is a player's game. In fact, it's a multiplayer player's game. Does your buddy lock a couple balls and then get a drainer? Guess what? It's yours to take! The artwork and flow of this game set the stage for games to come. Gorgeous. The rule set is fairly deep for it's time and the addition of the little demon post sets you up for some fantastic long game play. The ever increasing sci fi sound wave like Gorgar increases your anxiety as the score goes up and making multiball is a satisfying challenge. This does well in a collection.

I walked away with 3 credits left on this game. It is fast and I think it has a unique dogfight type theme given the number of 2's on the board. 2 fast paths above corned by 2 upper flippers, A center target with bright flash and 2 targets right in front of them. Speech was terrrible and you were supposed to be taunted by a soviet mig fighter during the game. The game I played was pretty planked and the voices were terrible. Almost underwater sounding. The multiball action was decent though. A couple of times, the center target sent up such a glass cracker that I actually had a ball hit it, roll across a slinghot plastic it landed on and out of gameplay. Lightshow was good. Can't see owning this unless you have it in your garage.

Drainer to the left, drainer to the right, drainer down the middle despite the save post. I liked the lighting to the game and every once in awhile the flow was smooth. Multiball concept was cool. Too much stop and go play for me. Wanted to like it more but the wide open playfield isn't my cup of tea. Games last about 5 minutes each unless your nudging like crazy. Hate the vegas theme.

A prime example of a low rated gamed when after you play it you say to yourself..."What the??!??!?! This was a helluva lot of fun!".........and then you wish you wouldn't have just posted the comment driving the future price up.

Great theme...A game that was destined for so much more. The DMD display IMO is fine. The cannons were a good but often malfunctioning idea. "shoot here and here". Ok...I now know how to aim a pinshot. "Multiball...easy to aquire...rules...shallow...I won't be back."

I played a fairly beat up but functional machine recently and did not see the magic at all even after earning a free game. First of all..this game is for the right flipper dependent or someone who perhaps suffered a mild stroke and realizes there isn't much on the left side of the playfield to contend with. Bigfoot's echoing laughter is a little amusing but the variable whistles in this game grate on me like fingers on a chalkboard. It's not pretty to look at either but the DMD display is relatively consistent with the playfield action. The whirlpool is a neat feature but ebay sellers beware...paying more than 1500 for this game is a bad investment imho. Repetitive.

Twilight Zone is Ok. I've pumped enough quarters in to make a sound judgement and I'm not a fanboy. I liked the original series but let's get to the game itself. A crowded wide playfield with an interesting target here and there. I came to the realization that this is a game for the advanced player that's dedicated to installing led's and nova waxing the playfield. The ruleset is confusing and the action is stop and go for the beginner. A kid would walk on...and aging enthusiast would shudder with excitement. There's snap and crackle but no POP on this machine.---edit 2017---i played a dialed in version. What a difference! What can I say...I was wrong initially.

I played this one at a truck stop on the way home from vacation. Other than trying to bash the Dracula figure that drifted along a preset wire...the game was a bit sleepy. Really. The flow was good but not especially fast, satisfying.....meh....Good use of color though. I wouldn't pay HALF of what is asked for this game.

There is something for everyone on this playfield if you're kind of quirky. I guess I would save all the toys on the playfield but reposition each one to make for a little bit smoother gameplay. This game was made by someone with a good sense of humor and don't get me wrong...it IS fun.

Long shots but good quality. If I found a good refurbished one under 750 I'd probably get it. Lots of memories and the pounding heartbeat really amps up the urgency.

I thought this was a decent game overall. I liked the unique loop feature and really there are shots on this game with plenty of octane. I'm not a nascar fan by any means but I enjoyed this machine for what it was. The machine I played even had a couple switch faults but it got about 1.50 out of me.

I thought this game was horribly boring. It was slow and underpowered and I thought the upside down pistolgrip flipper features were one of the worst ideas in pinball. The colors on the playfield were put on by 5th graders using dulled down watercolors. I'd have more fun taking the back box off, gutting the machine and putting wheels on it in place of the legs. Then I could use the flipper handles to push the cabinet around our local mall and serve gyros out of it. Horrible game.

If I were a biker, this game would be in my basement. I liked the sound coming out of this game but the ruleset is a little simple for my taste....the authoritative voice and alien bikerider are kind of a unique ideas. It's a simple solid player. I don't think it's really any better than Fireball II..in fact, the latter looks and plays better in my opinion. If you are into early 80's games and are a motorhead at heart...this is your pin.

Always liked this pin. Once you get to know your...er...way around "Elvira", you'll probably get bored with repetitive shots but I think the voice and 70's stag film music are funny. When I see people playing Elvira...they're never intense...always smiling. It's got some cool toys even if the dancing monsters are a little cheesy.... AND a good mulitball. Sure you'll need to walk away from it from time to time but it'll probably always be more than a place to stack your folded laundry.

This game just has so many enjoyable aspects to it that it's one of those "entire" package pins. There's nothing that stands out as completely over the top cool. It's not an extreme speed game and it doesn't have a dazzling seizure inducing light show....it's just consistently good time and time again. The only thing I don't like about it is the relatively weak plunger. I would have used Gomez's sword handle with an autolauncher but that's me. Great pin. Almost stole one for 1800 at an auction.

I love this pin. If I step back and take a super critical look at it i guess it has kind of repetitive long shots and music but that's it. It's completely addictive and super fast. It's got a gorgeous color scheme that should pretty much match any color in your house. The playfield looks great, the shaker adds to the urgency of the play and there's no way you can play one game and just walk away. Who doesn't love smashing alien saucers or quivering alien targets??!?!?! This is what pinball should be...fun and brainless....

A fellow pinhead owns this machine and it's always fun going down memory lane playing it. I like the smooth action which is credited to his good care of the game. Really this pin has some fantastic artwork. I knock it for lack of toys and variation and it's not that fast. It's a pretty machine though and I see it as a player's game.

I've owned one and sold one and I think every owner of JP comes to a point where it's just not played like it used too....however....when I did play it..one game was never enough. This machine was well thought out and is EXTREMELY fast once you've hit your stride. The 6 ball multiball is chaotic and the raptor kickback has got to be one of the fastest blowbacks ever invented in a pin. My pin had a good shaker motor and the big dino worked which is half the battle keeping both working. I ALWAYS felt this machine ranked up with some of the best Bally pins in terms of family fun and you can usually pick these up for 1600..Well worth it.

This game did nothing for me and I wasted a few dollars on it. I just....don't get it. I think the lighting was probably the best and the suspended pinball was a novel idea. Everything else to me was a complete yawner. Utterly forgetteable.

I've been looking for this machine to buy for some time and finally got a chance to play a beat up version at a local auction about 3 weeks ago here in Des Moines. I scored 399mil. I couldn't believe it and proceeded to chalk my name up on the pin at the end of the game. I think TFTC plays extremely smoothly and I didn't find any bad drainer targets. What I think this game could use is a drop in the toys from the very top of the playfield to something more mid range. Your eyes are so focused on the ball at that angle that a lot of the DMD animations are missed...and they are REALLY cool. I loved the feel of the game and the effects. It's darker to be sure but "warm in the crypt". I hope to pick one up soon and probably will add some LED's to lighten the playfield up.
