Great artwork package and the backglass novelty is pretty cool.

A more open table design but requires a well tuned table for the best experience.

It's brilliant for the era. One of my favorite Zippers!

My first foray into the zipper flipper world and what an abolute treat!

I think it's an utterly brilliant design especially for the era. What's not to like with a ramp skill shot, alternating gates, zipper flippers and multi-ball? Steal a trapped ball from another player? Yes, please!

A light mod behind the cavemen and the upper unlit plastic is worth the effort.

Like a few others have stated, originally I hated the look of burlap plastics. But they have grown on me and do fit the look of the game.

You can bury me in my 4MBC :)

I prefer three inch flipper EM’s from the 70’s. Enjoy Gottlieb’s, William’s and Bally pins and the variation from each manufacturer.

Picked one up a few weeks ago and went through the playfield, replaced all coil sleeves and pops and cleaned contacts. It’s on a 4 degree angle.

I was impressed with how fast this table can play! Satisfying spinner shot too. The great Bally pops can walk the ball back to the top of the playfield. Flippers are better than earlier Bally designs with plenty of power.

Get the flags flipped and collect. I like how the table design tends to put the ball into the left flipper preventing easy right flipper shots through the spinner and back to the top. Outlanes are unforgiving.

Artwork, it’s iconic for not only the history, it’s a killer artwork package and shows why Bally was on the rise.

It’s a fun game and a pretty cool layout.

Have played Bally's and William's EM's over the years but have always gravitated towards Gottlieb's. How can this table get such glowing reviews when there appears to be so little to shoot at? One came up for sale locally and was lucky enough to grab it to see what this fuss was all about.

How can you make a hockey themed pin that actually works with the games concept? The backglass animation is cool and the rink provides a unique visual appearance providing a lot of depth to the look of the head. But in actual gameplay you really can't look at the backglass animation or you'll lose the ball. Like everyone else has stated, an incredibly fast game without using 24VDC on the pops or flippers.

As others have said, brutal left outlane but not uncommon on Williams/Bally's with the kickers right above the flippers. Set the tilt very loose to allow some supple nudging to help fight off that left outlane.

Goal Scoring: The "goal" of the game is to increase the steeper unit a total of 10 times to score a goal. The game logic on the A and B rollovers at the top of the playfield will increment the stepper 3 times when lit. This option stays lit until the goal stepper unit reaches the #5 position, from a hockey game standpoint you've enter the opponents blue line. Once the stepper is in position #5 the A/B advance of 3 is no longer lit. Like hockey, gets harder to score as you get near the net.

Didn't hit the A/B rollover on the plunger? The center pop is your next target to advance the goal. The goal Advance stays lit on the center pop until reaching position #5 on the goal stepper. Once past it no longer advances the puck.

Hitting any lit rollover button will advance the puck on step toward the goal. And the sweetest shot on this table is actually when the ball matches the arc of the rollover buttons to score a goal. With some finesse and a little luck you can get the ball to roll just right for this to happen.

Likely the only EM I can think of that needs a topper! Where is that red light when the goal buzzer goes off??!!!!!

Point Scoring: To rack up points the A/B rollovers are a must to get the pops lit up. When a goal is scored the center pop goes to 1K point instead of 100 after a goal has been scored. The center stays lit at 1K points until the puck is reset to center ice. But points-schmoints...this is hockey!

Also as people have stated, this game can get amazingly fast. From a gameplay point of view, awesome table design by the master!

And yeah, what happened to the budget for the art department on this one? I don't have an issue with "pointy people' but did William's run out of them for this pin? And who at William's got the great deal on the huge vat of green paint? I am a Marche fan but I can't believe he put his name on this one.

With that said, it works better in a dimly lit room. The green take on a more muted look versus what you when the room is brightly lit.

I was skeptical of the high ranking at one time. After playing this pin, brilliant!

Outstanding artwork without a doubt. Great looking game.

The four flippers are interesting to say the least. Have orange dots coils in the main flippers and stock coils on the outside flippers and no issues at all getting the ball to the top of the playfield.

Too easy on 5 ball unless credit scores are set fairly high.

Also can be set as an Extra Ball game with one free ball per high score/point score setting.

The position of the vari-targets makes for a tough shot. You can rip the spinner for touch downs with patience.

This game is ho-hum on 5 ball with credits.

But 3 ball set to extra ball makes this game a gem!

Great transition EM.

The drop target value is 1,000-5,000 depending on how many rollovers you’ve hit.

Tight shots to get the ball back up top.

The drop targets are a challenge to complete without a drain.

Drops reset when you drain with the Extra Ball lit.

Plays like lightning.

Great artwork and a challenging layout. Had mine since 2013. Bury me in it.

Picked one up that was in good shape overall. Restored it with just minor touch ups to the playfield and cabinet and clear coated the playfield. Cupped inserts suck...

WHOA FREAKIN' NELIE!!!

A lone pop that does so much to help you and to punish you.

Excellent playfield layout with very fast game play. Get the drops down once to light the spinner, twice to light the Free Ball while advancing the drop target score value. Do it a third time for even bigger drop target points and also lights the chance for a credit.

Rip that spinner to get back to the top of the playfield to light the Double Bonus and Captive Ball.

But beware the Captive ball shot. So very tempting but miss it and a tough recovery unless the tilt bob has been removed :)

The total EM package from gameplay to artwork.

This was my second pin ten years ago.

I foolishly sold my Space Time after just a few months.

Space Time overall is a great pin to have in an EM collection. For starters, the back glass art is very well done and the overall artwork package on the cabinet and playfield flow together.

What sets this title apart is the Time Tunnel feature. Very cool looking when you light it up and it's starts flashing.

The gameplay is straight forward and as stated keep the ball in the upper playfield.

Very cool pin.

A solid title from William's during the mid 70's era. Hard thing is finding one in decent shape. Just restored and clearcoated the playfield in 2022 on mine and wow! Extremely fast playing EM that will test your reflexes!

For novice players 5 Ball is recommended but for good players set it to 3 Ball, Extra Ball. Now that's a challenge.

For the highest scores hit the Z ot T target to light the Double Bonus, then hit the spinner rollover or ball capture.

To score the extra ball you have to hit all AZTEC targets, and that aint easy, then hit the center target and try not to drian down the center.

Just a great looking pin and a great playiing pin!

A beautiful 1957 4 player game and fortunate to have it in my collection. Great Roy Parker artwork from the backglass to the playfield. Who can resist the beauty of wood rails and the glorius ringing of the warm bells.

Two flippers, two kickers, 5 pop bumpers, 1 roto-target, 11 total roll overs.

The debut game of the roto-target for Gottlieb (ranging from 30, 50, 100 and a single 300 point target) and not an easy shot. The gobble holes next to the roto-target increase the risk reward. The alternatering lighting of the pop bumpers provides a lot of visual lighting appeal.

Harkens from the gambling era but not to the extreme of Williams and Bally. Can be set for 10 credits when players 1 and 2 or players 3 and 4 match.

The outlanes are way too wide as originally designed. Someone had placed single posts just below the 5 point spin bumpers to alleviate the drain monster and rightfully so!

Beauty aside, it has no rule set. You beat the ball around for a high score. Max score reel total 1,999 with the 1k as a lit value.

You will have to rip it out of my cold dead hands. Originally paid $300 at auction non-working.

Nice looking machine and a fun playfield layout. But does play on the slow side. Beautiful pin no doubt!

This was my first EM. Really nice looking machine and when set up correctly plays fast. The Time Tunnel is a great visual on the playfield. 10 years later

Sold it after 6 months. Beating the ball around and the randomness of the bonus can be a turn off for some. There is no rule set.

EDIT: And 10 years later and I’m trying to get one back in my collection. As a stand alone pin it will get old quicker than other titles. But in a line up it is a great addition. It is what it is and that’s what makes it a keeper. Perfect pin for guests too!

One last note, Space Time the 4 player version is the same game and rule set as Time Zone. The rating for Space Time is 7.8 but for Time Zone 7.1, quite silly but such is the current rating system.
