“bought broken at Pinball Expo 5 minutes earlier than the next guy was going to buy it. Previous owner said that it was zapped in a lightning storm. Replaced bad drivers, burnt coil, fuses and works! Never on location! Also moved battery away from circuit board. Will someday install a memory capacitor. Issue will sound board connector, no biggie.”
“water-damaged wood at bottom, leg frames can be easily bent out of shape (not a good idea to stand on top of!) When power is removed, all scores and credits are lost. This game was in a pre-computer age where the company basically built a reactive circuit using CPU components but WITHOUT a CPU & ROM. It even has an extensive test mode! Fully configurable 3 replay options using wire-lead jumpers.”
“I was told that supposedly it came from the Frank Lloyd Wright house & studio. The previous owner said that there was a long line of people wanting to purchase anything they can get at the estate, but they did NOT buy this pinball machine!!! Game booted up but did not start--until I quickly fixed it! :-D The glass insert was wedge pretty bad against the cutout on top of the score display assembly wood. It took me almost a half hour to get it to open it without damaging the glass. The top had no lock assembly at time of purchase.”
“My all-time favorite! Previous owner unaware of battery corrosion on circuit board, won't boot. Two displays damaged and damaged display power supply. Wrong coil put in up-kicker in basement, kept blowing fuses. Battery damage extensive--had to wash board a few times, replaced a bunch of defective components. Damage to connectors and edge contacts--had to either replace or solder a new connector. Memory capacitor installed. Game once-in-a-while glitches with the switch matrix, otherwise running ok. Game was also at one time left in cold storage--damage to metal parts and contacts in connectors.”
“prior receiving: replaced alkaline battery pack hack with memory capacitor, replaced "redneck" fix of lower left flipper with new flipper plate with locking hardware (screws, locking washer on each end, new nuts), cut all old capacitors to isolate multiple switch detection and soldered new capacitors on targets known to hit at high speed, replaced silvered/blown bulbs after: reconnected replay knocker wire, replaced shorted SCR for Match bulb, replaced bad spring on right-outlane gate.”
“Damage to scorebox on left side--looked like someone accidentally dropped it. Not sure whether the glass was destroyed. Game is working, but need to replace old rechargeable battery ASAP! Once in a while the connector from the transformer to the MB glitches and can cause a fail in the boot-up. Loved this game when I was a kid!”
