Ed Krynski hadn't hit his stride as a designer yet. Not much of a game.

The science fiction artist Kelly Freas produced a painting for the cover of Astounding magazine, about which publisher John W. Campbell said: "Needs grass." Taken aback, Freas resumed work on the painting, and said he spitefully "painted every single blade of grass" (but admitted that the grass was exactly what the work needed). El Dorado gives me the feeling that after Ed Krynski gave Gottlieb drop targets, they said "more more more", and Krynski designed El Dorado to satisfy Gottlieb's demand.

The 1 and 4 lights can be made on top, and also by outlane, but the 1-5 sequence resets with new balls. So what's the point of making 1 and 4 by outlane? If an extra ball is earned through black drop targets plus 5 target, then there's no reset.

Designer Ed Krynski is an evil genius.

A very dull game. I think it very funny that Darling ranks so low on the Pinside list when it was the machine the cool kids played exclusively in my '70s arcade.

I was surprised it wasn't a Krynski design. Maybe Krynski borrowed the kickhole relay for Sing Along from Kings and Queens.

If I were limited to playing only one machine, it's Sing Along.
