“Bought from a collector in central Germany. Playfield had been clearcoated before I bought it. The clearcoat is ghosting at a few inserts. Re-built Rudy with new parts to fix eye movement. All of the holes in the plastic parts were elongated. Removed battery holder from board. Had some weird sound issues causing a loud screech when powered on. Fixed with a relay mod. ”
“Bought in Haarlem, Netherlands. Game had sat broken for over 10 years in the basement of a nice home. The new owner of the home sold it to me. Game had to be carried up a tiny spiral staircase to get out of the basement. Game needed a complete refurbishment, repainting of the playfield, clearcoating, many electronic repairs, sound issues. ”
“The High Speed was a basket case when I bought it from an old operator. The playfield was totally worn out and covered with cigarette ashes and dirt. Corrosion damage to the board, broken ramp, broken plastics, broken dome light, blown transistors, defective chips on the board. I cleaned it thoroughly and applied an overlay to the playfield which made the game at least playable...but I eventually installed a Hardtop to it. This was my first game. I learned a lot while rebuilding it! ”
“Bought from a young kid in an apartment building in central Germany. He broke the playfield glass shortly before my arrival. I donated the playfield to Marco's Reproduction Playfields so they could make new repros. I eventually got everything back after 6 months and got a new playfield and plastics out of the deal. Repainted the cabinet and head. Long road but I ended up with a very nice Nine Ball. ”
“When I arrived to pick it up, the MPU batteries were of course dead. The game would factory reset each time it was powered on. The previous owner did not know how to open the backglass or even that there were batteries in there. He had therefore drilled 2 holes into the sides of the machine to wire up external buttons to the menu/test buttons so he could set it to free play each and every time he turned it on. His grandma wanted a Christmas Tree and the Pinbot took up a big part of the living room. ”
“Bought from a collector in Veenendaal, NL. He had it for 20 years and was selling it to raise funds for some new machines. I replaced diverter ramp operator rod which mostly solved the mis-feeds. Added homemade Television Set topper as well as Thunderbird car over the pop bumpers. Added a LED panel behind Rod Serling. Had clock issues since early on. ”
“Original MPU was not installed - came with a Lisy80 board which has been replaced with a Swemmer MPU replacement board. The music was not working when purchased. Seller only had the one game, and he had never heard the music soundtrack before. He bought the machine to play with his daughter and kept the volume low because he lived in an apartment. Game was on the 5th floor of an apartment building with no elevator. I stored the game at a friends house in Xanten, Germany for 3 months while I found a house. ”
