About museum quality to mitigate any confusion amongst the underlying population. Museum quality can be working or nonworking. The pieces can be there or in partial. It can be a Roman warrior helmet or partial fossil remains. Museum quality does not have to be New In the Box (NIB). My pinball machines are original with original parts. What is meant by Above Average Condition is exactly what you expect in your mind's eye. For those of you that buy and sell pinball you have seen the worst. Unfortunately, the value of these pinball machines have inflated over the years. But this is in part by the resellers buying and selling pinball's for personal gain. However, this does not apply to those who take the time to do a restoration. Which goes back to museum quality. The condition of my pinball machines are what is meant by the manufacture. I'm not interested in color DMD's (digital matrix display), toy MOD's (modifications), or powder coated legs, lock bars, and guards. This does not increase the value of your pinball machine. The value of the pinball machine is what the traffic will bare. The value of the pinball machine is in the eye's of the beholder. It's how bad you want a thing. Not only is it inflation, but it's a new generation of pin heads who are interested in these machines. With a new generation of pin heads, and a limited supply of the production of these machines, have driven the price of pinball. There's also the me-too reseller. Since a reseller has taken the time to restore a machine, there are resellers trying to sell un-shopped machines at restoration prices. You can read the story on how I reached out to Pat Lawlor about the idea of the liquid crystal display to replace the DMD.
