I grew up as a kid in the 60's and 70's playing pinball more often than I want to admit. Taking quarters from my dad's pockets to play a few more games.
I used to go to the lake every summer and DOOZIE would be there in one of the buildings. Needless to say that got played until I was out of quarters.
My major in university was pinball with minor being pool.
Bought Magnotron and Buck Rogers 20 years ago and kept them until I discovered the newer pins.
Sold Magnotron and bought F-14 Tomcat and I realize how slow F-14 makes my older machines feel. Buck Rogers was next to go with DMD titles the only pins to come.
Update - 2016- Bought and sold several DMD's. 70's is where the heart is. Bought a Flying Carpet that needs some love. I can remember playing it as a kid. Bonus the price of EM vs DMD.
Update -2021 I like repairing more than playing. I need help. It's a great retirement hobby.

Depends on the game you play Duke. I personally find the late 70's and early 80's every bit as entertaining, and in some cases just as fast as some of the new games, but that's what makes pinball so great is that if offers something for all. Welcome to pinside!!!
