I really liked this game. So much so, I bought it. I will be installing Medisinyl mod set, white armor, and Laseriffic topper…amongst other things. Really fun to play and funny as hell. Totally surprised me on how much I liked it…but with only 150 made, and finding an incredible example…bolted to the floor…this will become a cult classic.

Between me and my wife…about 200 plays to date. I could do a really in-depth review, but I’ll reserve that for later code. That said, the code feels quite mature already. More video assets are needed, but I’m sure that’s coming.

I have been looking for the next playfield layout (the simple fan has been beaten to death (IMO)…and this is it. Unique, but absolutely works. The upper playfields are a blast to play and don’t interfere with gameplay. This machine can have the speed of Metallica, but there are definite times that you can breath and regain control. Really a lot of fun to play! Sometimes when companies try a “new” layout it just feels off or weird, but not here…this just works. Light show is incredible and rules are coming along nicely. All-in-all, this is the next great pin. The parts that need improvement will come…the parts that can’t be improved upon (hardware and layout) are already incredible.

Oh, and the topper…an interactive, lit, moving topper is included.

Play it. You won’t regret it. If it’s dialed in, it’s one of the best pins! IMO. We

I own this game. It’s a tough shooter, but once set up correctly (like many games) it’s a blast to play! Spooky’s build quality has set the bar and continues to do so. Playfield is like glass and remains so even after several hundred plays. The theme is like most (if you aren’t into R&M) then it’s ho-hum, but if you are they nailed it! I love the more adult call outs, but these can be adjusted in the settings. The light show is second to none!

Spooky hit this one out of the park. The artwork (cab, backglass, playfield) is the best I’ve seen on pin. Graphics is up there with the artwork. The rules are coming nicely and will soon get good polish. Game play. Some people complain about this...shots are too tight, too many posts, etc...I think it’s a blast to play. I find it annoying if I can flail and monkey flip and still do well because every shot counts points. You have to be on and dialed in, but so satisfying when you are. This will never leave my collection.

So much fun! This is a fun, but challenging pin. Scoop, crypt, and ramps are all tough shots. I love the artwork. The wife and I actually bought the whole Tales From The Crypt series and are watching it...follows the series closely. DE really did a good job with this.

Played a ton of games on this pin. I was in, then off, and now in. It really is a great game. Love the theme. The shots can be hard, but I like a little difficulty. The wide flippers didn’t bother me with multiple plays. The artwork is way above. This will end up in my collection.

I really thought this one was a keeper. So disappointed. Spot needs more light. Not sure what the Marylin ramp does. The lower playfield feels like a toy. I love the theme, artwork, and clips...but Stern needs to step up. Maybe mature code will change my mind.

Put a ton of plays on this. Just kept coming back. I really like the original of MM and AFM better, but this surprised me. I like the remake better. CGC really knocked this out of the park. This wasn’t on my radar, but now is. The game play was spot on, and the topper is one of the best I’ve seen. Really kept me coming back for more. The definition of a keeper.

I put several plays on this game over the weekend. My wife walked away from her last ball, but I wanted to give it more of a chance. No dice. Just not that much fun. Great animations, and the artwork is pretty good, but just didn’t make me want to keep playing. I won’t be plugging quarters into this one in the future.

This is just a fun game. The hole in one shot is one of the most satisfying in pinball. Easier for the non pinheads, but challenging for the pinheads. Love the art work, game play, and especially the irritating gofers. Truly a great pin.

Put a bunch of games on a well setup one. I had a blast! The shot, toys, and theme are really fun. This may be a buy in the future.

Played a bunch of games. Great shots, fun toys, and loved the speech/call outs. Defiantly want one, but major expensive. That said. The one I played was dirty and some lights were out. Most things worked, but sad to see such an expensive machine not taken care of.

Just couldn’t get into it. The shots weren’t that fun. I really didn’t like the huge upper field...and I like upper fields usually. Made the lower field feel cramped, and boring. Half the shots disappeared under the upper playfield, and the other half bounced off the targets so fast they drained. Just not impressed.

I see why this is so highly rated. Such a fun game. Faster play than TZ (which for me is a plus), with tons of unique toys. Really packed a wide body full. In home, a true keeper.

A great pin! This is a one more time pin...a big deal for me for a keeper. I love the theme, the sounds/speech, the toys...all a blast. In home, I think this would last a long time. Don’t see getting tired of it. I’ve played the remake as well, but prefer the original...just felt better playing.

I put in a bunch of games today. Fun pin. Really had a lot more fun on the original than the remake...remake just didn’t feel right. Maybe it was the setup. This is a great pin in addition to 4 or 5 other in home use, but it was a little too easy for lasting as a 1 to 2 pin collection. I know the church of AFM will spin, but just not a long term keeper.

Ok, I'm kinda biased, as I own it. I have close to 100 plays. I don't get why people think the playfield is bare. The shots are satisfying with some easy and some hard. The hyperspace loop is used often and so cool. Really adds a lot IMO. I backhand the loop/Death Star about 75% of the time. I think the tie fighter is cool (it's not just on a spring, there is a coil that is set off when you hit it, like hitting Sparky on Metallica). Add a shaker motor and this adds to the tie fighter shot. The light show is second to none, music is awesome (it's Star Wars), and the screens are utilized well. It really helps to have a "co-pilot" when you are getting know the game. They can help you by reading the screen when you can't...as the ball can move at blazing speed (I love games with speed). The middle button is a blast and has multiple uses, not just killing tie-fighters (such a rush while not loosing your ball). The code is not polished yet, but really good and I find it to have tons of variation and depth...make it as easy or complex as you want (i.e. Shut off stacking).

If you want a playfield with tons of toys, buy/play a TZ...totally different machines, and play is much slower (fun, but not the adrenaline rush I like). I think Stern got this Star Wars right. I know some people want this or that, but you'll never please everyone. This game really feels like you are part of the Star Wars universe when you play it. Totally immersive.

This is an edited review with code 1.0. WOW! WOW! WOW! Stern nailed it. The new code adds the call outs needed, the added features (using the inner loops to wrap cable around the legs of AT-AT to bring it down, added ways to exlpode the Death Star, etc). This is such a huge update, it’s too much to add. I’m sorry to all the people who are disappointed, and respect your opinion. But if you put a few dozen games on a well set up machine (and that is EXTREMELY important) I think many will change your mind. I really can’t stop playing this game...that and my Met...but I prefer this one.

Love the theme. Great toys and flow. Need to play it more, but would highly recommend.

Ok game to play, but didn't keep my interest. Maybe I didn't play it enough to appreciate it, but I feel the white LEDs everywhere are unacceptable...seriously, it's so monotone and like playing under a spotlight. I also don't like the photos they use for cab art, back glass, and playfield...I'm a fan of drawn art on pins...just my opinion.

A beautiful game with great game play. Lots of toys and cool magnets will keep both the avid player and the casual player coming back. Would love to own one someday.

I bought this game without playing it, but watched a ton of videos. I'm a Metallica fan and again, I own it, so this review may have slight bias. I own a TZ and Cyclone machines. Both are fun, the TZ is incredible, but this is a whole different game. Speed and adrenaline are what it's about. You also have to be very aware of your shots and how to slow it down when necessary. Obviously I love the theme. The music and the call outs are great, but if you don't like music pins, or Metallica I'm sure this will be a problem (I couldn't stand a country music themed pin). I hope Stern (and the other pin companies out there) keep using original art for their pins. The real photos of some of the newer pins ruin the beauty of the machine, and distract from the game play IMO. The only pin out there that comes close to this art work (both cab and playfield) is ghostbusters. Game play for the occasional player is a blast (although drains can be ruthless), but for the avid player it's incredible! Stern has revised the code to 1.70...this many code updates is virtually unheard of and they have done a great job dialing in a game with a very deep rule set that makes sense and is a blast to play. I looked at the pro, premium, and ghostbusters premium. Ghostbusters is too new...although I hear the code is good, I didn't want to have an early machine that I felt I was beta testing (although in a couple years this may be my next pin). I went with the Pinball Refinery edition, it blows a stock pro out of the water. I can't say enough how worth it it was to have a custom pin, and the additions make playing it that much more enjoyable. I will probably never buy a stock pin again. There are a few companies out there that do this, but the quality of build, and the ease of communication made this a great decision. I will never sell this game. I don't see getting bored with it with the deep rule set, and the custom mods put this over the top...in short, this is MY game, how I specified it. The Metallica run is almost done. If you miss this, many will regret it, but there's always used. I can't stress enough how I think original, drawn artwork is the way to go for future pins. AC/DC is suppose to be an incredible pin (I admit, I haven't played it), but there is no way I could own it with the artwork (although the Luci cab is good, but the playfield art is annoying IMO).

I have had this game for 8 years. The cabinet art and playfield art is great and the theme invites a lot of fun. Play speed is defiantly slower than some, but when you throw in the white ceramic powerball it can border on uncontrollable speed. The amount of toys (upper playfield, gumball machine, piano, slot machine, clock, and camera) puts it in a class of its own. If I were to casually play this game in an arcade, it'd be fun, but again slower than some, but the more you play it, the more it will suck you in. The rule set is very deep, but not so complicated that you lose interest. This game will never leave my collection...there is nothing like being "in the zone" to get your heart pumping and the adrenaline going!
