Only marginally better than the abysmal PRO, this game actually makes me angry that they tried to pass this off as a premium pinball machine.

I wish I could rate this game higher, because I do think it is an excellent player, perhps one of Pat Lawlor's best, but the theme is just not my cup of tea, which makes it very tough to even try to be subjective. Re-themed, I think this could be a fantastic pin, but as it sit's can only truly be appreciated by those who enjoy the theme.

How can a game designed by one of my favorites based on one of my favorite bands be so bad, but this one is damn near unplayable. If I want to just listen to LZ music, I've got lots of choices, but having to endure playing this boring game will not be one of them!! Stern should be ashamed of themselves for passing off this turkey as a full realease game, a re-themed classic Stern would have been better! I hold out very slim hope that the Prem/LE version will be better, but I can't see how a rising spinner and another wireform can rescue this one!!

I've been extrememly lucky to have an LE lent to me by a friend, the more I play this game the more I learn and the more I want to learn, in 33 years of pinball collecting, not sure I've ever said that!! This game keeps you coming back because there are so many ways to approach it, so many different paths you can take, literally no end to the variations!! Each character selection gives you a different look, you must then decide how best to use the advantages that they give you, it really does make each game seem like a new experience. A real masterpiece, and a stunning achievement for a first time designer!!

I've owned this game for almost a decade now, it's so different from most games of it's era, makes it tough to rate! Great backglass, interesting artwork to say the least, a playfield layout that you can kind of love and hate at the same time. Really like the way what you do on one set of drops gives you a scoring opportunity on the other set, plus increased awards for hitting the drops in sequence up or down!! Then there is the 3 bank that awards you extra time after the last ball drains, a great feature!! The lock sytem is also quite unusual, takes up a lot of playfield real estate, but it's very satisfying when you get the multiball going. Weakest point on the game is the cabinet art or lack there of, I've often thought of doing some custom graphics, mayb someday.

A rare game in North America, but well worth seeking out and learning it's secrets!

I've waited quite awhile to rate this game, but after playing it a lot over the last several months, I think it's time to say just how spectacular I think this game is!! Like most, when I first heard of the title and theme, I was pretty dumbfounded, but all that melts away once you get immersed in what is actually a very clever and original story playing out on an extremely well designed playfield. Seldom , if ever, has a game combined smooth flow with the need for precise shot making, definitely one of Lawlor's best!! My favorite shot in all of pinball might just be the Big Bang, very satisfying, especially when you are trying to complete a disaster, and the payoff in sound and light show is fantastic.

This game has that come back an play me again factor in spades, can't walk near one without wanted to play!!

Truly a classic, one of those "just one more game" machines that Gottlieb had a knack for making in the 60's. Nothing like loading up the kick out holes then shooting the Ace, one of the best EM "toys" ever. A great looking game as well, one of my all time favorite backglasses of Roy Parker's.

I recently tried to figure out my favorite multi player EM, and after much consideration, Royal Flush was it!! Gottlieb really knew how to do card games, and RF was it's best multiplayer effort, a superb game that can reward and punish you all in the same time, but most importantly keeps you coming back for more.

Not long ago my rating for this game would not have been nearly as good, but I have come to appreciate just what an amazing achievement this game is, truly a classic and Steve Ritchie's Magnum Opus. A stunning integration of art, sound and theme, to create a sci-fi world under glass.

Don't quite get the hype on this one, basically a rehash of STTNG in a standard cabinet. Yes it's bright and flashy, so much so that it's distracting, a game doesn't have to be so bright that you can land a plane by it!!

It's a fast flow game, no surprise because of who designed it, and there are some very nice cosmetic touches such as the display panel and side rails, but the dots are abysmal, and the sound is still sub par.

The game feels like a chore to play, hit this series of lights, rinse, repeat over and over, the modes just doesn't have much uniqueness to them.

I've had my LE for a little over 2 months now, and I've played it more than any other game I've ever acquired. Normally, I would wait longer to rate it, but I'm completely confident in my feelings on the game right now.

This is truly a game changer in pinball, a revolution in how a machine is made and how it plays. Everything about WOZ is first rate, in some categories a 6 didn't seem high enough to rate it properly. The best way I can think to describe it is that WOZ is like playing pinball in a small world under glass, it takes you on an adventure that has ultimate goals, but gives you different paths to get there, so it never gets boring. Even with the code only partially done, the game is amazing, as it evolves further and is polished, epic will be the best word to describe it.

JJP deserves all the accolades that can be given, an incredible effort for a first machine!!

Truly an amazing game from Dennis Nordman, very creative and challenging. Hard to really know where to start, but it has a great mix of flow and shot making, fun, bright theme, with great John Youssi artwork, and of course Bigfoot!! I guess what really makes it special is that it is very unique, I don't think I've ever heard anyone say another game is like Whitewater!!

I've put off rating this game until now because I didn't feel I'd had sufficient time on it, but after playing quite a few games on it tonight in an environment where I could really evaluate it, I've come to a conclusion, MEH! Nothing inherently bad about it, but nothing really good either. This game feels recycled to me, just more of the same old thing again, repackaged and re-themed. The playfield is completely predictable and at this point so is the play, the music itself is OK, but the callouts are horrendous, some of the worst I have ever heard on a game. I won't go into the quality of Stern's sound system, that's a generic problem, but it really is emphasized in a music pin.

The game does have room for improvement with the added toys on the LE, but it's only real hope is that Lyman can weave some of his magic with the code, both in game rules and sound bites, perhaps he can turn a very mediocre game into something worthy of it's artwork.

Possibly the best wedgehead, an absolute classic game that is brilliant in design and execution. It's difficult to explain just what makes this a great game, you have to play it and let it win you over. As with most Gottlieb EM's, the challenge is simple to understand, but difficult to accomplish, giving it that magic "just one more game" factor.

Possibly my biggest disappointment in a game that I sought out to own because I really thought I would like it. Once I got it and fixed it up, it sat in a corner until I finally moved it on, never got played!! It's not that it is really bad, just didn't have that replay appeal, and I just couldn't accept the artwork on the playfield, we're talking WPT BG bad here!!

I think T2 gets over looked sometimes because it was one of the first DMD's, but if you put it in context of its time its's really great pin. SR did an amazing job of translating the movie into a game that is fast and really captures the Terminator spirit. Not as deep as games that came afterward, but IMO, a game doesn't have to be a marathon to be good. T2 will give you a lot of fun for the buck.

One of the best of the Classic Sterns, extremely fast game that doesn't give you a second to rest.
Stern had a knack of making interesting rule sets and SeaWitch has that, but it's the sheer speed of the game that is it's trademark.

Simply a classic game, a real groundbreaker on it's time, that is still a blast to play today!! First game with lane change, first multiball game of the Solid State era, and fast and furious gameplay, what more could you want!!

Classic early Bally SS, similar to many games they made during the period, but this one has just a little more going for it than the others. Guaranteed this would be a much higher ranked game if it had been done with a Boston Bruins theme, it still makes me cringe to see #4 in a Blackhawks uniform. But that doesn't stop it from being a really fun game to play!!

One of the truly great playing early solid state games made by any company, hard to find a more enjoyable machine to play in a group!! Unique bonus system makes for huge comebacks and crushing defeats, this is simply an awesome player.

I really wanted to like this game, but it just had too many flaws. It's got 16 drop targets, but that's about where the positives end. There are just to many places on the playfield where there is no scoring, seems very hap hazard in the way the playfield was put together, just not a cohesive design.
The bonus hole, which is so crucial to doing well in the game, is virtually unshootable, it's just more luck than anything else if you get it. Lastly, the drops don't reset, something Gottleib did on a few games, just can't figure out why??

I'll admit to being biased on this game, as it's the one that got me into pinball, but I honestly believe it deserves a very high rating. Basically it's a pinball machine that you play blackjack against and that's it's genius. The dual scoring system is brilliant, let's you play the machine in 2 different ways, I almost always play the blackjack scoring, it's just such a challenge. Getting 21 and scoring the 300 points, extra ball and replay, is one of my favorite things to achieve in pinball!!

If there is one game in pinball where the phrase "appearance can be deceiving" is true this is it!! At first glance this appears to be the most boring game ever made, nothing on the playfield at all, everything on the edges, but that's it's brilliance, a pinball playfield shaped like a pool table!!! Getting all the balls is difficult which makes it endlessly challenging, and extremely rewarding when you do!!

Unfortunately, this is a very rare game, only ~800 made in 1950, 62 years later there are only a handful left. If you ever see this game at a show, PLAY IT!!, you won't be sorry!!

Fell in love with this game at the Pinball Hall of Fame in Las Vegas, played it for hours once I figured it out!! Very challenging, as most woodrails are, no easy shots and a drain out the sides is almost assured on an errant ball, but once you get into the gameplay this is a great game of it's era, and one of the most attractive games to boot!!
8.436/10

Hard game to rate as it really doesn't play like a conventional pin. Williams reached the pinnacle of horse racing pin design with this game, up until Nags, all the HR games were pretty unbalanced, easier to hit some horses than the others, but they solved that problem with the turntable, a feature that would be amazing today, nevermind in 1960!!! Putting the 6 pop bumpers which represent the horses on a moving turntable was a revolutionary idea, and it works incredibly well!!

I wish I could give this game an even higher rating, but it lacks in the sound department, otherwise it's a solid 9+

Another classic wedgehead from my favorite era, just a very fun game to play, with that Gottlieb knack of a simple objective that is just challenging enough to achieve!! Sometimes it's relatively easy to collect all the cars, others, damn near impossible. This one is on my list, in fact I've acquired a backglass for when I do find one!!
9.478/10

Simply one of the best AAB Wedgeheads that Gottlieb every made and that's really saying something!!
The game is endlessly challenging, can let you have a good game, then humble you the next. The parallel kickout holes are one of the great toys of the EM era, there is little in all of pinball more satisfying than hitting them when they are lit for add a ball, and hearing those thwacks!!!!!

Generally I really like most Gottlieb Wedgeheads, but this is one of their weaker efforts, just not a fun game to play IMO. Too simple a layout without the inventive rules that make most Gottlieb games so compelling.

Only recently got enough time in on this game to give it a fair evaluation, better than I thought but with a couple of bad things that drag it down.

The good, excellent layout, with a lot of varied satisfying shots, reminds me in some ways of The Shadow, lots of different ways to play it. Decent flow too!! Good looking game, but backglass is weak, and cabinet art is only passable, but the bright colors make up for it somewhat.

The bad, well the sound calls will eventually drive you insane, my biggest gripe, I honestly think this pin would be much higher ranked with a major sound revision. The lower playfield isn't the worst, but like most, somewhat of a waste of space and time.

All in all a fun game to play, just can't stand the sound!!

Just don't see what others see in this game, nothing special here. Being a huge fan of John Youssi's art work, I was majorly disappointed when I saw this game, same old crappy art pasted all over the playfield, Stern's biggest weakness IMO. I blame the manufacturer, not the artist, it's the path they have chosen to go. Gameplay is just so/so, certainly better than the games that preceded it though.
Some of the sound clips are downright aggravating, but at least the music is OK.

Done up with LE wire, would take it up a notch, but still only make it a mediocre game for me.

One of the better late 70's Gottlieb Wedgeheads, a fun game with some interesting strategy. Always a challenge to advanced the thermometer in the backglass to the top!
8.720/10

One of the last alpha numeric games, and one of the best!! Simple but very compelling objective just keeps you coming back for more. Great sound track especially the beating heart, and wonderful John Youssi artwork complete the package. Only real drawback is the unbalanced scoring, but for some reason it just doesn't bother me on this one, just keep advancing until you get to metamorphisis, then go for the BILLION!!

Decent game from Stern, best one they've made in quite awhile but it's dulled quite a bit since I first played it! Extremely fast playing and very in your face, The bell is very cool, and the idea to tie the gameplay into the songs is brilliant!! The led lighting is very effective, almost too bright sometimes!!

Now for the bad news, the cannon is poorly placed, I really dislike the way it blocks the right return lane, maybe it was necessary, but it sucks!! This is basically a upgraded T2, not that that's a particularly bad thing , but it isn't ground breaking either. The lower playfield is ho hum at best, wouldn't miss it for a second if it disappeared completely, and the band diorama in the back is just plain silly.

It also badly needs a couple of software ball saves, nothing turns me off a game more than when I make a perfect shot and my reward is a drained ball. This game has 2 of those, a cannon shot to the drop target bank and the bell.

Overall, it's a very good game, if they someday come down to a reasonable price, I would consider getting one, but at $6K+ I'll just have to play a friends for now!

PS All the 10's that I've seen posted are a good example of why there should be a waiting period on rating new games, the perfect pinball does not exist!!!

Update: Spent a couple of hours playing one, my opinion of the game is sliding the more time I put in on it.

This game was very nostalgic to me, used to play it in a bar on Sunday nights with a friend, always enjoyed it. However, when I finally got one for my collection, it didn't live up to my memories of it, it just wasn't as much fun to play if we weren't paying!! Excellent execution of the theme though, and as usual Greg Fereres artwork is awesome!!

What can you say, it's Elvira in all her campy glory!! This was THE game when I got into pinball, so fun to play and great to look at!! I think this is Greg Fereres backglass masterpiece and that's really saying something when you consider his other work!! Then we have the custom speech by Elvira herself, was the standard for humorous pinball voice until she outdid herself on Scared Stiff.

Roadshow is a game whose sum seems to be less than its parts. Few games have as much going on on the playfield as RS, led of course by the 2 talking heads, Red and Ted, there seem to be endless places to hit the ball too, but for some reason the gameplay just isn't as good as it should be. Some blame it on the use of country music, but that doesn't really explain it.

All that said though, RS is still a very good game, and set up right can be challenging as well. A nice example can be had for a reasonable price, so it's an excellent bang for you buck game!!!

OK, the backglass is pretty ugly, and the playfield art isn't the best either, but this is a really good game to play, which is what it's all about isn't it??

I've always thought of this game in the same way as the Streetfighter movie, why didn't they let someone who understood the video game write the gamerules/story??? There are a lot of mistakes in the translation from video game to pin as far as story goes, but in spite of that, the game has an engaging rule set on it's own, and defeating all 12 streetfighters is not an easy task! Once you do, then you have a very challenging wizard mode, that yields huge points if you can beat the "Master"

IMO, this, along with Stargate, are the best of the Gottlieb DMD pins!!
7.844/10

Sopranos is a better machine than it should be, nothing really spectacular in any of it's components, but it is redeemed by brilliant use of it's theme to create a very enjoyable pin. I suppose it really helps if you are a fan of the show, (or at least familiar with it), but I think it stands on it's own as just a fun game to play, even if there is nothing particularly outstanding about the layout, or art!!

Very unique game, but for some reason after acquiring one and playing it a lot, it just didn't have that gotta play another game appeal, and eventually I sold it. It really is a one trick pony with the backglass playfield, and it is definitely a challenge, but the whole package just seems to be lacking something.
8.230/10

An almost forgotten Bally game from 1980, which is a real shame as I think this is one of their best. Some very interesting if not unique features on this game; the hurry up spinner, the 2 way kickout hole, the momentary 50,000 target, and the 1-2-3 sequential drop targets that yield a 10x bonus! If you get a chance to play one of this don't hesitate, I think you'll be very impressed!!

Shadow is one of my favorite games, but it took me quite awhile to acquire a taste for it, in fact, at first I thought it was lousy!! After having to play it at several league events, it suddenly clicked for me, and I had to get one. Amazing variety of ways to play, but I always find myself shooting for vengeance, one of the best modes there is!! Of course, the ultra cool sanctum lock, and unique battlefield, are also big pluses on this excellent game!!

This is a game that grew on me, didn't care for it at first, but once I had the opportunity to play it for an extended period, it became one of my favorites. Particularly like the music and the way it blends with the gameplay, very well done!! Great looking game too!!!

Possibly my favorite Lawlor game, just plain a blast to play!! The Hole in One shot is one of the best in pinball, the game plays fast and furious, with a great sense of humor!! It's only serious fault is the buggy software, this one really needs a ROM update!!

One of the few Sega games from the 90's that I really like, being a big fan of the movie helps I guess! The game stands on it's own though, lots of good shots, and multiballs, some very good modes and I really enjoy using the mini flipper! As with all Sega games of the period, the artwork is not so hot,(being kind) but this is better than most. Only thing I would definitely change, would be the sound of the hoppers, they are extremely irritating!!

Overall, one a very good game, and one of Sega's best!!

Despite the fact that this is an undeniable classic, I just can't connect with the gameplay, perhaps it's the constant hurry-ups from the 4 drop target banks that annoy me the most, but there is just something that doesn't work for me. Love the backglass, and overall it's a very good looking game, just not one I really enjoy playing.

What pinball should be all about, just plain FUN!! Great looking game, awesome sound, and a theme that just couldn't be much better. The Drac extra ball animation, and the Monster Bash Intro are 2 of my all time favorite animations. Just play and enjoy!!!

I know most love this game, but I actually loathe it, I struggled to give it a fair rating, but I really can't rate it any higher than I have. I could go into detail about what annoys me about this game, but suffice it to say, when the sound grates on me, the shots bore me, and gameplay simply leaves me cold, there really isn't much else to say.

One of the more disappointing experiences I've had with a new game in quite awhile, nice looking, but that's about it! Found the gameplay very uninspiring, in fact pretty boring after only a few plays, nothing really exciting seems to happen, even the multiballs become repetitive!!

Not sure what you can say about Centaur, it was so far ahead of it's time back then, and still is an amazing game today!! Artwork is stunning, sound is brilliant, game play is engaging and keeps you coming back for more! One of the true classics of the early 80's!!

One of my favorite wedgeheads to play and one I am still looking for to add to my collection. Gottlieb used the exact same playfield in 2 other wedgies, earlier in Rack A Ball, and later in Mibs, a testament to a great layout. BQ has by far the best artwork IMO, so it gets my vote as the best of the 3. A nearly impossible challenge to get all fifteen balls to rack in the backglass, but one that keeps you coming back for more!!

A very hard game to rate, such a milestone in pinball history and evolution!! They really thru the kitchen sink at this one, and for the most part succeeded admirably!! Unfortunately due to cost restraints they left out 2 major items, speech and multiball., otherwise HH would have it all. I've found that most players are so lost in the 3 playfields that they have no idea how to really play the game, or what the strategies are to get a good score. It also needs to be set up and tuned properly to be really appreciated.

I believe this is the fastest pin there is, a pure adrenalin rush in a pinball body. I guess you either love the music or hate it, but I think it fits the theme perfectly, and the taunting just drives me to do better. One of my favorite SR games.

One of the better games of it's era, and possibly has the best artwork ever! . I've always thought it was a shame that it had the rudimentary "beep bop" sound board, it just missed when Bally upgraded.

Huge fan of the movie, but actually wasn't blown away by this game at first, but I've come to appreciate it for the great player it is. Gets my vote for most frustrating game, especially when equipped with lightning flippers, not uncommon to kill it once then have it hand you your a##. The color palette is strange, but very effective, just not what I would have chosen based on the movie.

Not a big fan, attended one of the launch parties for it, and was underwhelmed. Feels to me like it is missing a flipper on the right side, never had this feeling on a pin before. Won't say it's bad, just nothing stands out for me.

Just pure fun in a pinball game, great sound bites and music, easily accessible to new players, but challenging enough for everyone, the kind of game that just never gets old. Gets even better when some of the mods are done to bring it up to what the designer had wanted, such as the dancing boogiemen and skull pile lights.

I've had my Addams for over 20 years now, bought it NIB on the advice of a local distributor who told me it was going to be the biggest pin ever, obviously I wasn't disappointed!! The game that truly started the early 90's "golden age" at B/W, (along with T2), gave us modes, thing, and timeless gameplay.

I realize that TZ is a marvel of innovation, and it does have very cool, fun things on it, but in this case the sum is less than it's parts. It just doesn't grab me the way some other games do, and it's a game I seldom play when I come across one.

Indy has been my favorite DMD pin for a long time, it's just a wonderful example of how good a game can be when it all comes together. No other pinball embraces it's theme as well as this game, it's like playing the movies!!
