Frist Great to find Pinside, and all this wealth of information!!
My wife and I have been avid vintage Motorcycle collectors for year, so we have that addictive gene. We focus these days on Italian Moto Guzzi motorcycles, but also some old Honda’s and Yamaha two strokes. At the high point we had twenty-two motorcycles today we have eleven, so just what I needed another high dollar passion to get into, PINBALL??
Never played a kid, so was never really into it. I am retiring in September, so my dream has always been to have a killer mancave, home theater and music studio, as I play a bit of music. A place to hide when I retire, as I traveled 4 days a week our whole marriage. She is going to have to get used to me being around. So, I began this year by spending way too much money on finishing my basement into my dream room. When construction was completed, I could not have been happier with how it came out.
Now about the wife, she is as enthusiastic about bikes as I am, the joke is only three are mine. Also, she is the most enthusiastic female RUSH fan on the planet. She has a big plastic tote full of RUSH memorabilia going back to the 70'. So, when she heard about the RUSH pinball game, she said we must get on to complete the look of the new room. I was very resistant because of the cost for something I thought would just be a clothes rack after the first week. So, we agreed to sell a couple of bikes to fund it. We got a Rush Pro with Topper, Shaker, Starman side armor, and Starman lighted pull rod from Chris at Arcade Rescue 911 in Indianapolis. Chris was great taking me through the basics, of how to get into the playfield etc. and advice for getting set up when I got home,
So got it home and set it up with no problems, had a go at it and man this thing is beautiful!! Instantly I wanted to learn more, so my obsessive-compulsive nature kicked in and I started burning up YouTube, the web in general, and trying to learn more and more then I found Pinsider!! SO I bought me a few mods to start, I know I will enjoy tinkering and working on it, but my surprise is how much I enjoy playing it!! I stink and have a lot to learn but looks like we are hooked. Went to the Recbar here in Louisville yesterday, they have over 80 pinball games there, and we had a ball. Looks like a new weekly date night activity is in place, they also have another across the river from Louisville with a bunch of tables, and that is next on our list.
Have the expression lighting coming and the banner, oh boy another money hole LOL
So if you see me on here asking dumb questions like a the complete noob I am, be kind .
That is our story!
