A winding road to pinball passion. I'M BACK

My mom liked pinball when she was a kid. When she would take me to arcades she would usually spend her time on pinball machines while I was feeding quarters into arcade beat-em ups and fighting games in the early 90s. When I was out of coins I could usually squeeze in a little more time by getting my mom to let me play pinball. Addams Family and Funhouse are the two traditional tables I remember the most from my mall arcade. A pitch and bat named Slugfest is the game that got me into spending my own money in the pinball machines; I was lured in with the promise of prizes in the form of baseball cards.

It wasn't much later that pinball machines disappeared from the arcade completely.

A couple of years after I got married I got nostalgic for pinball and started looking specifically for an Addams Family machine. Around 2004 I bought one from eBay and picked up a Maverick as well since a 2nd machine didn't cost anything additional to ship.

I've never gotten the Maverick fully working and the Addams Family developed problems around 2008 and they have been sitting idle until recently. I got bit by the bug again and have since bought a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Eros 1 cocktail machine, EM Playball, Black Rose, and Baywatch.

I want more.

I don't know if I can stop.

Lord help my wife.
