Awesome machine.
Some might think the art package is gaudy and bizarre, but that’s part of its charm.

Surprisingly hard to find considering how many were made. Great game in my opinion.

I’ve owned this machine for a while now and feel comfortable giving it a review.

This machine in my opinion is very special. It’s hard to put your finger on just why at first. Yes, it’s a great theme that is brilliantly integrated into the game, but it’s more than just that.

The play field design almost feels like a throw back to the best of the alpha numeric solid state era, yet at the same time feels fresh and new. You can tell that the designer Scott Danesi has a love for that era of Pinball as his past machine TNA reflects that.
This machine incorporates some of those great aspects of that era with Scott’s own twists. The horseshoe lock is really interesting and kind of a throwback to Swords of Fury, however incorporates drop targets and optos creating a crazy ball lock in a really interesting way.
The use of the portal in the garage where there is already a ball loaded in the scoop (Similar to Bally Spectrum) give the feel of the ball auctomatically teleporting to the bottom of they play field.
These are really neat features that are not incorporated in a lot of other games. The list goes on and on like the pop bumper sling shot. Yes this has been done before on games like Andromeda, but this has a different feel to it. The pop will actually shoot the ball up the pkay fiel perfectly to the upper flipper or even into the horseshoe. It becomes a crucial part of the game. The magnetic save is sooooo much fun to use (similar to Black Knight 2000). I love this feature and find myself occasionally trying to do this on other games.

It’s really not one thing that makes this pin special, it’s a list of little things that goes on and on. Sure, it’s Rick and Morty and it’s a great theme. But it’s also a great machine with a ton of great features and it’s a ton of fun.

If you’re a fan of the show and have watched all the episodes this machine is packed with content from the show. Not just the adventures (modes), like Pickle Rick and Anatomy Park, but tons of subtle things in the call outs, one liners and general humor from the show.
It’s incredibly well integrated and a ton of thought went into where and when to place the call outs and animation. It’s in my opinion it’s one of the best theme integrations ever done on a pinball machine.

The code is still fairly early, but Eric has been cranking out updates at a rapid pace since the games release. It’s really refreshing and exciting to see him interact with the Pinball community and being an active participant. The code is really quite polished and very good for how long this game has been out. I’m really looking forward to see where he takes us with upcoming updates. Especially eager to see what adventures get added. I think that’s another one of the beautiful aspects of this machine. As the adventures (modes) on the game are all adventures from the TV show there are soo many possibilities of new modes to be added over time to the game. Hence the game will continue to remain fresh with new content.

I’m really happy with this machine and feel very lucky to own one. Definitely a keeper for me.

I’ve played this now at two different locations and had a chance to get some time on it so feel comfortable giving it a rating.

First let me preface this with saying that the two machines I played did not play the same.
One played really well and I loved it. The other I thought played aweful like it was set up wrong or something.
After playing them both and reading the theads on this machine I think people need to spend a little time fine tuning it and setting it up correctly to make it play right.
I.E. don’t just inbox it and think it’s fine.
Like most pinball machine you will need to adjust a few things.

As far as gameplay and shots I think it’s a lot of fun and should be a real hit on location.
Not sure what all the hype about the demigorgon shot it all about.
My first game I made it in his mouth 4 times.
This might have to do with how the machine is set up.
The machine I played at The Pinball Lounge in Florida played awesome and shot really well.

I think this is a really good theme and a really well designed pin.

Both machines I played on had major dimpling on the play fields. This was a bid concerning as the machines could not have been on location more than a couple weeks. I’m normally not one to best on the play field drum, but it was noticeably bad.
It will be interesting to see how these hold up over time.

I probably will not wind up buying one of these (unless the wife really wants one) simply because I see them selling a lot of them and being able to readily find them at locations.
I really like the pin and will be putting money in them whenever I come across one.

I do see this game having some lastability and staypower if someone buys one for home. The theme is immersive and really draws you back for another game.

After playing this at TPF this is at the top of my want list.

Edit: I now own this machine so I’ll update this when I get a little time. Love the machine.

I've played this game on several occasions at the Museum of Pinball in Banning.
Really interesting and unique game thats basically a hybrid of a pinball machine in an arcade cabinet.
It features some pretty interesting innovations, like using a mirror in a similar manner to early arcade games like Space Invaders to give the illusion of vertical game play.

Keep in mind that this came out in kind of an experimental era.
This came out in 1982, the same year as games like Baby PacMan and Caveman with integrated arcade monitors and the following year Joust pinball was released.
All of these are somewhat oddities of the era and highly sought after by collectors.

As far as gameplay, I find the game quite enjoyable.
The use of joysticks to control the flippers actually works fairly well once you get used to it.
The sounds are cool, as is the overall look and fell of the machine.

The low production and survival rate adds to the overall mystique and desirability of the game.
Certainly not a game for someone just looking to put a few pins in their home.
A great conversation and collectors piece, not an everyday player.

I've owned the game for about a week now, so I may alter or amend this as I log some more time on it and get a better feel for it.
That said, I've played it everyday since we brought it in the house.

The game is a lot of fun and supper addicting.
I really love the game and definitely think its a keeper.
We've got a pretty solid line up of pins and this one is up there for me.

My biggest gripes would be about the quality of production which is probably more a gripe with new Sterns than anything else.
Im a big fan of 90s pins which seem to be a better quality build.
It just feels more flimsy than older pins.
Stern also needs to do something with the way they are finishing their play fields.
The play field started dimpling almost immediately and it will be interesting to see how it withstands the test of time.
When I asked a couple of my friends about the play field dimpling the answer I got was "thats moderns Sterns for ya".
One thing that for certain is a contributor to this is the Trooper multi ball.
It sends all the balls in a straight line heading for the flippers and when you hit the lead ball it sends the rest flying.
About 1/3 of the time it hits so hard that a ball pops up and hits the glass.
Its literally like dropping a pinball right onto the playfield.

Also, the Eddie figures on the pro model look cheap like shrinky dinks.

Love the game, just wish Stern would address whatever it is that causes the play field to dimple so much.
All BS asside, I love the game and i'm supper stoked with it.
Really glad we picked this up.

There are things I really like about this pin and things I find totally annoying about it.
Seems a little overdone and too gimmicky.
Fun to play, but would never own it.

Ive owned this machine for about a week now, so I may update or change the rating as I have had more time to play it and get deeper into it.

First and foremost - If your looking for a family pin for the house that the kids can play "THIS IS NOT FOR YOU".
If your looking for a fast paced game chocked fully of rock and roll, monsters and gore "BUY THIS GAME".

As a fan of both Rob Zombies music and films I find this game very appealing and utterly amazing (may not appeal to all).
It is very fast paced and incredibly responsive with a lot going on once you get deeper into it.
The more I play it, the more I love it.
The sound quality is fantastic and mixes 10 different Rob Zombie tracks into the game play. Sound effects also include voice overs from Rob Zombie, Sheri Moon Zombie and Sid Haig. One feature I really like on this game is the clock. The game ships in family mode and you can set the clock to automatically put the game in adult mode after a certain time of day. We have two young children, so it is currently set to switch over to adult mode at 8:30 at night (after the kids are in bed). The audio in adult mode is a little over the top in an awesome way. When you first switch it to adult mode you hear Sheri Moon say "ok, get ready to see some tits, ass and hear some four letter words". Some of which include Sid Haig saying things like "get your head out your ass boy", "what the fuck was that shit", "hey chicken fucker, get the cluck out" among many other lewd and utterly hilarious remarks. The game is chalked full of this and really fun in an addictive way.

Cons: Occasionally the ball gets stuck behind the drop target at the top of the play field. The upper play field is a little lacking. I would have also like to see a few more toys and gimmicks that interact with the game play. Looking forward to seeing what software updates come out and hopefully some mods.

First and foremost, I own this game and have a biased opinion. That being said I feel like it gets bad review because some people are just not fans of GNR. This game gets played more than anything else in our house, especially when guest come over. The game play is very good and fast paced, multi ball is awesome, ramp shots etc. Really underrated in my opinion. A lot of thought went into the design and playability of this game and I love it.
The rules are pretty basic and easy to understand. Often when "non pinball" people come over they can get a feel for the ruleset fairly quickly and put up a descent score after only a game or so. That said, it still doesn't get old for me.
Using the gun trigger to lock the features on the guitar neck keeps that game changing because your always shooting for a different mode.
Fun game.
