I remember when I was a kid and my family would take trips to visit my Uncle (a pinball collector) a few times a year. He had probably around 30 pins in his home ranging from the '50s all the way up to the late '90s. I would sit down there until all hours of the night playing Funhouse and Big Guns. I was obsessed with those games, and they were the only ones I was able to crack his high score list on. Other titles I remember playing: Wizard, 60 million dollar man, Fireball, Fireball II, Eight Ball, Eight Ball Deluxe, Haunted House, STTNG, IJ, Big Indian, and the list goes on and on.
It was not until this past year that I really started to play pinball again, and get serious into the hobby. There have been a couple pinball hangouts that have popped up near me, and I have really had a chance to play some of those titles I haven't played since I was a kid, and really learn their rule sets and enhance my skills. It is safe to say, I have the full on pinball bug. I have also acquired my first two pins to start my collection (Baby Pacman and Dipsy Doodle '70). The Baby Pacman was in great shape when I got it, but the DD needed a lot a work. I have to say, I have really enjoyed fixing that machine up and learning the ins and outs of EM repair. I think I have started to like that more than chasing high scores!
Either way, I don't see me interest in this games ever going away, and I just cannot wait to increase my collection, knowledge, and skill of pinballs.
