I've always had the basic pin skills, and stamina for days (as my friends say). Over the passed year I've made huge leaps and bounds in my game. Just recently I've noticed myself doing things I never would have done, but now, come natural. Practice truly makes perfect. The small things make the biggest difference. Side nudging the machines while the ball is coming from loops is a great example. The slightest tap can ensure you do not hit the slingshot, and on many machines get a catch, or dead pass to catch. These small nudges have brought my control game to a whole new level. When I had started nudging, I was over/under doing it, and could not figure it out. Now I do not even notice myself doing it, and save 90% of my old out lane drains. The same can be said for my dead passing, I had awful reads of the ball coming to the flippers. After hours of play, I can read the balls dead pass ability when it's still halfway or more up the play field. I've always loved pin, but now I understand its nuances, I love it that much more. So to all the Pin newbies struggling to develop their skills, keep it up, it gets better! -CJB |
