I've probably spent 30+ hours playing this title at various locations. I'm trying to come up with a single thing I dislike about this pinball machine to no avail. Without question my favorite Pin. Holy Grail, Mona Lisa, Perfect 10, Golden Goose..... etc.

A top 5 game for me.

The Tron's I've played have been fast, challenging, and damn fun. I'm a sucker for a good Sci-fi theme. The ruleset is deep and getting to the multi layer Wizard mode is VERY difficult. The Gem shot is one of the more difficult shots in Pinball.

The one major downside i've seen on a lot of on location Tron machines is the standup guarding the Quora shot. It will sometimes be leaning into the Quora lane. In some cases this can make shooting Quora nearly impossible.

Taxi is one of the games I've literally hundreds of at location plays on. It's classic representation of what makes the 80s era of Pinball great. The shots, ruleset, and having a few different scoring strategies make its staying power solid. The shots are varied and depending on how well the game is maintained, it can play very quick if the flippers are strong enough to make it up the steep ramps. Chaining ramps is a viable strategy. The 2 ball Multiball has a great 2 shot hurry up. Collecting the passengers and Jackpot is always exciting.

The two glaring negatives for me are A.) I do not find the theme interesting (I tend to prefer Sci-Fi themes) B.) The jackpot does not reset in between games until collected. This ruins it a slightly for competitive play

I have recently purchased a Xenon. After spending a good 10+ hours on it over the last couple of weeks I feel like I've enough reps put in to give a fair assessment of the game.

-The Good-
The high point for me is definitely the artwork. Classic early 80's Sci-fi theme and an absolutely gorgeous shadow box backglass. My particular machine has a near mint condition backglass with LEDs and flicker eliminators. The game really pops. The playfield artwork is equally interesting. The 4 morphing faces under the spinner are the highlight for me.

I would classify the game play of Xenon as difficult. For me this a plus, although I could see how some people would not like this. Ball times can be short if you are not on your game. The tube kick-out can be particularly brutal depending on the machines particular feed into the right sling. Xenon has a interesting 4 pop bumper configuration in the upper middle section of the playfield. The ball ends up in the pops A LOT due to their location and one of the main objectives (center scoop) feeding into the pops. You have to be ready and willing to move the machine every time the ball is in the pops. Achieving the 2 ball multiball is somewhat difficult, but feels rewarding. Multiball times are generally short as it can be difficult to get both balls under control. Big scores can be achieved by getting Multiball and ripping the lit spinner for 1000 a spin which is very satisfying.

-The Average-
Xenon has a pretty simple ruleset. Truthfully there are not not that many shots on the game. You are either shooting the spinner, the tube shot, or occasionally the right set of drops. Backhand shots are rare on my particular machine as they require some set up via some flipper skills.
Tactically speaking it's a bit of a "do the thing" game. Basically you are going for Multiball and then juiced spinner rips. If the machine you are playing on has an old rusty spinner you can alternatively focus on repeated tube shots which builds in value. There is not much in the way of variety to scoring points on this game. For that reason I would give the replay value and lastability of the game average marks.

-The Ugly-
The droning music can become a bit of a burden after awhile. I have the sound turned down pretty low. I do like the female voice callouts that happen when you shoot the center scoop, but there is not much in the way of variety.

The greatest multiball intro in pinball. It gets you pumped to play some pinball.
I am a sucker for side ramps and scoop mode starts. This pin checks all the boxes for me.

One of my favorite Pins. A classic machine with tons of strategy and a high pressure multiball. If you like pinball, do yourself a favor and go play this machine.

The only thing I kinda dislike is the dummy voice is a bit annoying, but I play with headphones on most of the time.

This game is underrated. Want a big score on this game? The rules are simple. Aim for 4 drop targets on the right side of the game. Knock em all down. Proceed to rip the spinner for 2k a spin. Sounds easy right? It is not.

I always feel like the next game I can do a bit better, and then it crushes my dreams. Keeps me coming back for more.

A middle of the pack Stern for me with some reedeming qualities and few things i strongly dislike. I really enjoy the placement of the two ramps on this game. They are both backhandable on the machine I play on and both shots are very satisfying. I find completing modes on this game very difficult, and it can be a bit of a grind to get the doublers lit on the important shots after every drained ball. The multiballs are a little weird being that they can be different depending on if you are an autobot or decepticon.

Being that the machine I play on site is an LE, I have to say I think the gameplay suffers a bit from the Starscream and Ironhide toy gimmicks. They tend to slow the gameplay down a bit. I would honestly just prefer it to be the Pro version. Another dislike of mine is the DMD movie animations. They never seem to look that great. The last thing i really dislike is the inlane areas. They are covered up behind a ton of ramp plastic and trying to look around them to see the lane inserts is a real pain in the neck, literally.

This game is wierd, but in a good way. I'm a bit of a sucker for side ramps, and this one has the best side ramp in the buisness. You better get locked into it as well because putting up a decent score on this game requires you shoot it A LOT. The WHO combo is very fun to shoot. I tend to stay away from the Time Expander in the upper middle portion of the game, but big scores are also possible using the Multiball strategy.

I never got into the Dr Who thing, but the artwork is great and if you are a fan of the show then i am sure you will love the art, theme, sound, backglass, etc.

The rules are really freakin weird on this game, but a great machine overall.

This game is hard as balls. To get big scores on this game you need to do a lot of work in order to stack the 3 multiballs in the game. It requires making a lot of very difficult shots. It can be a very rewarding experience when a good game comes together, but it is one of those games that is prone to making you pull your hair out.

The theme, animations, and sound along with the very difficult gameplay are what make this machine one of my favorites. The animations are second to none. A classic machine.

I did not play this game with the old code, but from what I understand it was terrible with the game allowing you to time the modes out. The new code requires you to make a lot of shots to finish the modes. The better you do in the modes, the bigger the payout will be later when you reach the mini wizard mode. Making combos during the modes will reward good points. There are lots of tactical decisions to be made while playing the game, particularly when it comes to what modes you stack your M-Balls with and also when to activate the 2x playfield scoring rewarded from reaching warp 9.1 on the side ramp. Speaking of which, the side ramp is an insanely fun reflex shot to loop repeatedly. Back handing the spinner is a shot I find satisfying as well.

Its a decent looking game. I don't enjoy movie art on my pinball games that much, but it is decent. I would not consider myself a Treky but do enjoy the franchise. One of Sterns finest games IMO.

I owned a Sky Jump for a little under a year and only sold it because I will not have space for it after moving. I spent a lot of time on this game and have to say I enjoyed it immensely. Shooting the drop target bank is addicting. The rules are simple, but averaging a decent score on this machine is difficult. I rolled her once during the time I owned her, but that was with a loose tilt. (104,000)

The Artwork is second to none for this era game IMO. The backglass and playfield art are 11/10s.
I'm not a big fan of EM chimes, but you kinda learn to love them after awhile.
