How to get hooked

I grew up going to the mall in the early 90's and loved our local arcade, Fun Factory. I mixed it up and played all games but always enjoyed the pins. During late 90's I went mostly to console games and then got a job and didn't play much of anything. Then my parents moved to Texas near one of my dad's old Air Force buddies. They used to run pretty hard, as Air Force pilots are want to do, and spent a lot of time at the officers club. At the O they had a 1972 Gottlieb King Kool and apparently the games got intense. Long story short when the O closes my dad's buddy buys the King Kool and when my dad moves near him he sticks the Kimg at my dad's house. Every time I visit, all I end up doing is trying to get people to play me in pinball. Pops sees how much I'm enjoying myself and talks his buddy into letting me come over and check out his pins.

His lineup is; Twilight Zone, Addams Family, Attack from Mars, Monster Bash, Tomcat and Safecracker. All meticulously restored and in excellent shape. MB and AFM blew me away. I was totally hooked and knew I'd have my own pin.

i started looking and educating myself, going as far as to buy Pinball Machine Care and Maintenance off of Amazon and read most of the book. Some of it seemed hyper technical if you weren't making the exact repair they were covering. Luckily I ran across ngreenup with Starship Troopers for sale and had an easy transaction with him. Now I've looking to add to the collection and enjoying all the places to go play these great pins.
