I've always enjoyed pinball, but got more into pinball maybe about 5 or 6 years ago and started going to lot's of shows and events, I didn't get serious about pinball (owning games) until this year.
The main reason I finally realized that I wanted games in my home is when I entered my first tournament this past year and started to look at pinball in a whole new way. It suddenly became more fun to me, just trying to beat out my own score on the tourney boards was seriously addicting. Not trying to be #1 or even #100, but just beating my own spot. I'm not very great at playing but am getting a lot better. I knew at that very point that my gameroom needs pins!
Jurassic Park was my first game that a long time member here that happens to be a close friend of mine helped me get. Instantly I was hooked and got my first NIB this year. Then my second NIB, well.. you know how that goes and can probably see where I will end up.
I have many pinball buddies with massive collections that I've known for many years and now that I'm getting into it more I have become closer to those friends as a result. I think pinball is a great thing because it brings people together. Even my wife enjoys playing which was completely unexpected.
Thanks to pinside I have also made new friends in my local area. People I actually hang out with now, not just on occassion.
After getting more into pinball I found out that modding is insanely addicting. No seriously like crack addicting. Be warned. I have almost as much money into my TRON as I paid for the machine new. Where does it stop? I don't know.
Thats pretty much it, see you around.
