Extremely fun fun game. Makes me laugh even now when I play it. The sound is great for the era - & again just fun. Very attractive & tasteful cabinet & backbox art, the backglass is a dud but nice when replaced with alternate of original cartoon. Playfield art also great & colourful - not so keen on pale colourings of rock houses along the sides or colour on apron - but these can be modded. I keep coming back & very surprised this is not at least a top 100 game - although based on a movie it has more than enough "original cartoon" to be timeless. Big thumbs up.

I wonder if TWD is a case of trying too hard - too many involved in designing/adding to the game, too many ideas crammed in. For me the playfield is way too busy, while the cabinet art is surprisingly dull. On top of that the game seems to drain for the hell of it - maybe this can be helped with tweaking. Not a machine I'd want in my home (not a show-piece at all) & after a few plays it didn't draw me back.

Edit. I had a further 10 games or so on my mate's TWD. I'm still not impressed but during multiball did find myself having fun. The music is good, not as good as AC/DC or METLE - but good. The callouts are terrible - just awful - redneck voice that cheapens the game. The bash toy is ordinary & the playfield remains too busy. The cabinet remains dull to my eye & the ball drains at times when on any other game I would say it's not my fault. Slight upgrade in ratings for fun, music, gameplay & playability, & larger upgrade for theme & lastability. I will return again if I find more positives or the game really grows on me - super expensive game so it at least deserves a fair trial.

Can't connect with the theme at all which doesn't help - but doing my best to leave this aside I just don't get it. Some cool up & down ball returns that are interesting for a few games, & then boredom sets in. Maybe it's a good one for the kids, but I just don't like it - IMO a massively over-rated & downright dull game.

Way under-rated game - maybe because it's damn tough. Playfield a tad too open but gees this is addictive once you are really into it. Fun theme, good artwork & one of the best value games around.

IMO the coolest cabinet/ artwork in all of pinball. The fact it's a great game to play is just a bonus

I love gnr - & i damn well love this game. i dont think the backglass is anywhere near what it cld have been & it badly lets down an otherwise great machine. never understand the haters on this - will always be a classic & super collectible with it links to what was once the biggest rock band in the world. should be in the top 20 (& my top 10).

The backglass (Baldwin) originally spoiled this for me until I played one with a cool alternate translite. Now I'm hooked - just love it - heaps of shots, very cool playfield & cab art, sounds fit the theme perfectly. IMO best playing pin from the Bally power era - top 10 for me.

My favourite band - close to least fav machine. First few games fun, sounds great - then it's time to move on. Lastability (lack of) is such a letdown on a machine that cld of been soooo cool. Shame on Stern for making metallica way cooler.

Under-rated machine with great value to be had. Artwork is not great, although personally I don't mind the cabinet art - it's the backboard that lets this one down. Otherwise I love it - but it MUST have snappy flippers to be appreciated. If I was to find a flaw it's the car toy - would prefer this as another ramp or loop. Great game, love the use of "Send a maniac to catch a maniac" - fits perfectly.

Edit. In April 2015 FINALLY found a great example to add to my collection. Having the game at home I wanted to make sure my rating was spot-on. It was very close - but thus fame us fantastic, & with leds throughout I have upped both lighting & sounds a tad - they are terrific, especially for a machine that's now more than two decades old. Just awesome!
