In the 70´s and 80´s pinballs were banned in Buenos Aires City by the military dictatorship. The only way to play arcade was going to some cities near the ocean, seedy vacation spots as Mar del Plata, Miramar and - in my case - Necochea. There I found pinballs and the happiness of it all.

Now I try to have some, not as an exercise in nostalgia, but as a fascination with the sheer mechanics and art of it. "Xenon" was a high mark then. Someday I will have one of those...

Thats an interesting story Akuschev 72
I also have heard that NY state lifted the 'pinball' ban in the mid 70s and at least one other U.S. State pinball was banned from.
do you remember any of the machines you used to play?
I wonder what makes or MFGs made it to Agrentina?

as far as I know, they used to be some sort of gambling. table has different holes with numbers, you chose a number and play, if the ball fell into the correct hole you win, Something similar to roulette, and thats why they got banned, they also used to have cash withdraw mechanism.

nut that must be earlier than the 70's. Have never seen one thou

I'm not 100% sure
