Not a bad game. The theme is a bit of a head scratcher for a pin. Subsequently, the resulting game is not bad, nor is it very good though. Don't know if I will play it again anytime soon or not.

This game could have been better if they scrapped the gambling and made the game less predictable.

I have mixed feelings about that one. I love the theme, enjoy the elevator. Seeking clues is fun. Hearing the phone ringing is cool. Artwork is decent and layout is original. The theme is well executed.
On the other hand, the roulette is out of place. Animations are fun at start, but grow old quickly. A pin I enjoy playing on location but would not consider owning or selecting for a tourney.

Very fun game. My wife loves it because of the novice mode which makes her want to go pinball.. which is nice. I am a big fan of murder mysteries and the machine does an excellent job of setting the atmospher. The music and sound effects are good.. although I could see the phone getting annoying.
Many shots to shoot for which a nice playfield layout. Not a ton of toys but that is ok. I do agree with reviewers that the roulette wheel does skew the scores. This is a good thing while playing on location as it helps get the replay score but at an in home setting it could get annoying.
Overall a very fun and different game to play.

Really nice lighting especially in low light environments (note: would not suit LEDs)and really interesting theme. You need to remember clues that are given as you play else risk loads of points getting answers wrong to Who Dunnit questions. OK to play but didn't grab me.

WHO dunnit has excellent music / sound with tons of speech. The murder / mystery theme is really cool with some great DMD animations. I like how the background story for the characters is in the manual and the answers in game reference parts of the history. Roof chase is done well with the moving shots. I give the design team a lot of credit for creating a very different experience with pinball. All of the above is "A" list, but is the game fun to play? Sadly for me the answer is not really. Almost all the shots in the game end in a ball stoppage. This stop-and-go gameplay gets old really fast. Neat game in a big collection, or to play once in a while on location. The game concept is better than the gameplay.

This is a unique game with a great theme. I love the backglass and playfield artwork. The cabinet artwork is disappointing considering how great the rest of the art package is. The music and dot matrix animations are both very well done and certainly enhance the old school detective/murder mystery vibe. The rotary phone is a bit disappointing as the primary playfield toy but it's integrated well into the gameplay.

This machine has some good shots and the playfield has a good layout. While I think gambling fits well into the theme of this machine, I'm not a fan of the roulette wheel. Some of my best scores have been achieved or ruined because of the roulette wheel, but I guess that's the nature of gambling. While there's always the option to opt out of betting on the roulette wheel, it just feels like you're missing out on a big part of the game if you don't bet.

I've found that this machine is great to play every once in a while, but finding the clues to find the murderer gets a little repetitive. I also think picking out suspects on the DMD slows gameplay down too often. This machine gets top marks for artwork, DMD animations, music, and theme but it's only average in the gameplay and department.

Not a bad game. Might want to give it a few more plays. Can be really easy to get a high score without much skill, though, with the roulette wheel... kinda makes scoring a joke. A well designed rule set, though, and great callouts.

Once you figure it out, this game is really fun. It takes some time but well worth. Cool game

My wife's favorite. Fun, story oriented theme.

A very cool concept, solving crimes and getting clues, but with the "elevator" right in the middle, it is too easy to just hit over and over and over. Granted, you can shoot for other things, but I just don't care for that design.

Not a fan of Oursler games. So you can already tell where this review will be going. Who Dunnit is a stinker. For me, its down at the bottom of the WPC pile with Popeye and Fish Tales. Game feels clunky and unorganized. The whole casino idea seems to be an afterthought added to give the game more punch, even though it does not neatly fit in with the hard boiled detective theme. Catching the murderer gimmick gets old quick once you have been through the scenarios once or twice. Callouts are lame, and I never, ever want to hear the Peter Gunn theme again in my entire life after a half hour on Who Dunnit.

One area this game really shines is in the dots. Great animations. Captures the excitement of the chase and over noir feel that is lacking in the rest of the game.

Unique kick at the can, but the kick was a total MISS.

Full disclosure, I own this machine. I bought it from a guy who had all kinds of issues with it. Paid $1200 for it. He bought a Rottendog board for it and incorrectly wired it. Basically none of the flashers properly worked and many other glitches. Once I fixed all of that, I felt there was one spot that was still weak, the roulette wheel. I decided to mod the wheel. You can see my mod at: http://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/who-dunnit-roulette-wheel-mod.

Overall, it's fun to play once you understand the rules. Kids seem to like playing it. Would sell for a game I am looking for (IE Centaur or Theater of Magic). Other than a specific game, it's staying in the collection.

Tell me more about...... No really don't tell me any more! The sounds on this game are pretty crap. Layout is OK but nothing amazing and the rules lack much in the way of imagination. Average game at best

This is a fun game and I like the music and voice work. I don't really like the way it scores for a variety of reasons but the theme is great and the shot layout is interesting. Good solid B/W mid 90's game here.

Had a lot of fun playing this one. Very unique layout With the main ramp right in front of you. The casino theme at times is a head scratcher, not sure why roulette is in a murder mystery. Would love to own some day because there was plenty to do on this one. Really liked the modes and multiball was a hoot!

DMD is used well, sets up the theme nicely.

I really wanted to like Who Dunnit, but it just never was that much fun. The elevator shot takes up 30% of the playfield, and directing the ball down one of the 3 paths is mostly luck. I think the game had a lot of potential, but once you figure out how to select the correct suspect you realize how shallow the rules are. It is also too complicated for guests to understand what the objectives are for progression.

Most people didn't understand how to play it which is why sales were low. Fun game to have in a big collection.

I got respect for Who Dunnit. Although, it doesn't seem to represent murder as much as gambling! Yet, it is quite addicting. Flow is there, at least sometimes, the music is real swingin', but sound effects are overused in this game, and the voicing does get tiring after too long. This definitely had potential had they done something else with the machine, but I honestly like how it came out. I do want one, so I guess that's good for them!

WHO dunnit is one the most underrated pins out there. It's like your playing Clue in pinball form and thats the big reason I like it. All the voices are fantastic, the slot machine built into the playfield is an excellent toy, and the cabinet artwork is really well done. If you see one, you should give it a try.
