Trivia
- Volcano was the second Gottlieb pinball after Mars God of War (1981) to feature speech.
- It has a double backglass, that helps along with lights and sound effects- to simulate the feeling of an eruption. The double glass is not mirrored.
- There were some unusual features introduced in Volcano, such as the player-controlled, cam-adjusted ball shooter guide (the shooter lane only extends half way up the playfield). Also bizarre is the presence of the old-style "skee-ball" ramp which has 4 "craters". The higher up the crater that the ball lands in, the more points and bonus are scored.
- Cave-man themed, the artwork is of stupid Neanderthal men and of course, that same style of busty bikini babes.
