Much like Tron LE, this is an excellent game. Essentially, the same game w/out the fiber optic lighting system - can't go wrong here!

Falls short in theme due to lack of lighting and toys ala LE. It's a shame Stern feels they have to release watered down versions of games then upcharge the complete package. It makes an otherwise good game pale.

I own a Tron LE, but have played Tron Pro on location and in tournaments many times. Similar to my LE rating/comments, this pin can be frustrating to play because it can quickly punish you for missed shots. The playfield layout is the same so shots to the jets and Gem are risky SDTM ventures, just like in the LE. Also, the VUK in the arcade scoop can vary from machine to machine and determining how to handle/control the ball when it ejects is key - dead flipper pass it to a left cradle, hold right flipper up to the in-lane, live catch, or just hit it on the fly when it comes at you.

Overall, the Pro is still a beautiful machine and if you are looking for a fast "in your face" machine, Tron will fit the bill.

Fast and fun! Tron looks so good and plays just as well. The rules are good. Not as deep as some games but I think it fits the theme perfect. The spinning disc is such a great toy on the PF and shoots the ball out very fast. Ramps are great and the 3rd flipper is done very well. The flow on tron is so good and makes you want more.

Tron Pro is a great game. Plays just like the LE other than the drop targets and a little extra on the LE. Obviously misses the lighting on the ramps, but this is probably the single most modded game in all of pinball and the modded up ones are amazing.

This game looks great, sounds great, and plays great. An amazing effort by Borg and Stern.

I love this game! No, it doesn't have much in the way of cool toys, but it has great flow and challenging modes, which are the priorities for me.

highly addictive. I must play this again and again
Rules are complex and allow many simultaneous events (multiball + disc + Zuse + Clu etc...) resulting in big points. Never made it to the portal yet, but I will someday :)

I played the regular version of this game at the MPLS airport. There were pretty long play times, and okay ball flow plus a lot of shots. I like the ramps and overall layout. In a way it reminded me of a really, really good version of POTC with old school Williams flow, like a twist of Corvette. Only thing was, not a lot of flash, dash, and special features, although very well made in terms of layout. It made me wonder if it had lasting ability outside of being a points marathon.

I got a chance to play this a Disney at the Contemporary resort earlier this month. It was the pro model but I really enjoyed this game. I must have played 10 or 15 games before the wife came back from the shops to drag me away. I'd love to fine one for home.

I'm a sucker for Tron. Had the privilege of playing more than a couple rounds on a nib fresh out of the box. My rating has gone way up. Very fast game, crazy great flow once you get the muscle memory going. I like games with music that drives you when you get it singing. I considered TFTC borg's best game, till now.

Tron is one of those titles that I prefer the pro model to the le. This is only after adding the fiber optic ramp mod, making the games feel similar. Rules are simple, yet game is impossible to beat. Brings you back for more.

Just cant stop playing this game. Hours and hours i have wasted playing this game and i can honestly say its the fastest, most ass kicking machine out there right now. Get some combos flying and stack those multis for pant wetting ,eye boggling speed you can either deal with or whine about. Awesome machine.

Not many toys on the game. My first review shortchanged this game, because it took me a few games to get used to the speed. This game plays very fast. It was fun once I got used to the speed.

This is the closest game to my home. Lots of fun but I prefer the original arcade game

I am rating the pro model. I love this machine. It is super fast and a pain in the arse. just the way i like my games. Lots of flow and requires you to really have a course of action and not just flip away.

The soundtrack is the best I've ever heard and the voice calls are well incorporated into the theme.

This game has me wondering if I could ever pay $5000 for a machine.

This is a shot makers game and not for the feint of heart.

What a huge disappointment. I love the Tron movies. Love them. The imagery from Tron is so strong but this pin just fails to use it in my opinion. 1 recognizer, maybe the disk behind it? Welp, thats it! lets call it a day. Maybe the LE is better, but Im not going to rate a game on its LE version. This is the version Stern wants normal people to play. And its sad.

-{EDIT}- After many plays Iv completely changed my mind about this. Iv come to appreciate it for both its degree of difficulty and ruleset. I ended up making if my first NIB wish the LE price hadn't been blown out of the atmosphere.

Nice flow and better artwork than some other Stern's made lately. LE is miles ahead but this one is well designed for the coin-op.

No qualms here, Stern's best pin to date and one of the best ever regardless of the quality of parts.....the only people that don't like this game have a problem with the theme.

This is based of the Pro version. It took me about 10 games to really get into the machine. It didn't grab my attention. It just feels that they really cut back production cost on the game. It was such an awesome movie and I feel the pinball machine does not give it justice. They could have done SO MUCH MORE with the game.
UPDATE AS OF 6/24/12 I am hooked to the game now! It took me a few weeks to warm up to the game and now that I completely understand it I can't stop playing it!

I enjoy playing Tron a lot. I like that it incorporates the use of a third flipper because it makes for some fast paced action. The movie theme is tied beautifully into the game. The 3D back glass is very, very cool. I like hitting it into the spinning disk. I have witnessed the ball coming out at phenomenal speeds and at random trajectories. This helps make each game of Tron a very unique experience.

I enjoyed this game, had lots of fun shots, I really liked the disc. and the ramps on it.

Edit I got better at playing, and got to get more time on this game, and wow it is deeper than I thought before. Its a good game and on my wishlist for the future.

This rating is for the non-LE version. LE version would likely rank higher for the cool lighting effects. This was a pretty fun pin. The spinning disk is really cool. However, the disk is the pin's only major toy which is a bit disappointing. You'd think with a license like Tron, another cool feature could have been added. Compared to some of the other late release pin, this, perhaps, makes the pin lacking. However, sometimes less is more so to each their own. No matter what it's still a fun pin and the pace is pretty frenetic. As an added bonus, the 3D translight looks awesome!
