My vote for worst Stern machine in recent memory.

It seemed like a good idea, and I really wanted to like the machine, but so much of the table just wasn't there for me. The entire table felt cheap, the design lackluster at best, and the toys wern't even really toys.

One of the most underrated pins!

A great layout by George Gomez.

The game has so much flow, so much more than the LE in my opininon.

I added one gimmick to the game. A Starscream figure on the left ramp. That really looks greater now.

Ok the playfield artwork isn't that beautiful, but I can live with that. But in my opinion the backglass and cabinet look good and really fit to the theme. The animations are unfortunately mostly taken out of the movies. That doesn't look that great.

The sounds, music and the quality are good.

The game lightning usually isn't that good. But I have upgraded my game with some LEDs and that really makes a difference in my opininon.

Overall the game is good and with some effort you can even make it great.

Damn i love this game so much, i bought a new Pro edition. The flow... is typical Gomez... fast and gives a good feeling. Art is great if you love the franchise, sounds are superb, and lighting also very good.
Ruleset is maybe not that deep or inventive, but its still hard to get done. Its rewarding to play, and keep you going for a while.

Transformers is a great game has great flow, great theme, good sounds and music, good dmd animation but I do think the le versions are much better because they have more toys and the back glass artwork is little bit better

I had a combo for a while but prefer the pro, better flow. Great sound and fast gameplay makes this a hidden gem in my opinion.

In my opinion TF is an outstanding pin LE OR PRO - a totally fun theme with great music and sound effects, creative shots, deep rules and a good light show - while it can be somewhat of a grind session the objectives are obtainable. (Making it to the final wizard mode - The Battle of Cybertron - is to far away to even be considered obtainable at my current skill level, so at least in my mind, the Senitnel Prime mode is what I consider to be the "wizard mode" - but also I never make it the wizard modes unless I am playing a 10 ball game anyway) Overall I think this pin is way underrated - maybe not a top ten but definitely will stand the test of time.

Always enjoyed this pin when i meet him on tournament/expo, but without the idea to go deeper in the rules & strategy of play... Now it landed home (in a swap with my MET), its a good surprise, as its better than what i was waiting for. Of course still didnt see the "end", but already have a really good feeling not only with the flow and the gameplay, but with mature (and complete ?) rules, and also the sound/efx theme with the lights (its a pro version, moded with quality LEDS). Again, a underated pinball for sure, cant really understand why, but lets deal with it, we all have different taste and its better as it ;)

I bought a Pro because I had fun playing it in spurts on route. To do well it is so much chopping wood for each repetitive mode that is basically the same as the last though, so the game didn't stay long in my collection. I got through the wizard mode after a few games and that was it for me. There just isn't enough to come back to time and time again. You can only backhand Starscream, then shoot the right orbit, wait for the ball to come out of the pops and then trap it again and repeat so many times. This game could have and should have been so much better than it turned out to be.

What can I say. I owned it 4 times. The first 2 ones were PRO's. When I wanted a TF back a 3rd time I decided to go LE. But since I was used to the fantastic flow of the PRO I sold the LE and after that I bought my 4th Transformers. But this time a PRO again.
So no need to mention how much I LOOOOVE everything about this game. The flow, the sounds, the music, the shots feel so good, I like how it looks,…..
Only thing I don't like is the fact that it's too dark with overall GI light. But I put bright LED's in and now it is perfect to me.
VERY underrated game IMO. Kids like it too.

Not as nice as the LE, the back of the playfield looks incredibly bare compared to other versions of the game. I'd probably avoid this one and go for an LE model instead.

tons of flow and i like being able to add multipliers to different shots (just like BDK) the amount of shots needed to complete each mode is a little ridiculous at times, and all the modes feel the same, but overall a great game if you like flow and transformers

I played this at an arcade recently, and it was in very rough shape! But it still played well and I had a great time on it.

It feels a little 'not-so-deep' on the rule side, but it's a good game for sure. I absolutely LOVE the 5 ball multiball... that was enough to make me put in credit after credit.

The action figures on the playfeild are a little cheesy. I know Transformers were originally toys, but it really takes away from the game with those there IMHO. It make it feel cheap.

Overall definitely a fun game, easily on the good side of the rating spectrum in my books!

Some cool aspects but the game is boring. Do not like the flow. With the theme the game could have been much better.

Not really sure why this Gomez game gets so much hate. Sound package and call outs are great. Great flow & a real draw for novice and pinheads alike. I guess it helps I'm a fan of the films. Guess I can't get too upset people dog this late model pin. It makes it more affordable. It may find more of a following down the line like IM. Who knows. I for one am pleased to have added it to my collection.

Played this one a while back and finally decided to put up a rating. Better game than I expected due to all the negative comments. Pretty good flow and I like the artwork. Would be a nice addition in a mid size or larger collection.

Got to play Transformers Pro for 2 hours at the local mini-golf. It was set up fine, and the flippers were very responsive. Ball travel was nice. Everything seemed to work fine. I loaded it up with 4 games, and on the second round, once I calibrated myself to the speed of the machine, I was getting a replay on every other game.

Art/Lights/Theme:
I have no idea what half of the lights seemed to be flashing most of the time. The lights were not pretty, and had little or no contrast against the gaudy playfield. One of the more poor art packages I've ever seen.

Sound/Callouts:
Being in a mini-golf meant I couldn't hear things well, so I just didn't grade the pin for this section.

Flow:
Good flow. I liked the outer orbit. It felt like I had played this layout before. Whether it was T3 or some other Stern (I don't know all the Stern games all that well.) There was certainly nothing about the layout of the pin I thought to be creative or unique.

Toys:
The idea that you launch the ball into a rubber figure, so that ball can dribble away slowly and land back near the flippers is a decent randomizer. I could see how some kids might like this feature. I didn't find it interesting at all.

Ball Control/Hazards:
I found that most drains were when I chose to NOT control the ball. What this means is that this is a very VERY easy pin to play. I was able to win a free play on my 5th game, and then once I loaded up 4 players, I got replays on all 4 accounts. This is knowing zero rules, or using any lights to my advantage. This is simply with ball control skill and decent multiball skills, I was able to win replays at 6,500,000. My high score in roughly 2 hours was 16mil. Once the replay jacked up to 12,000,000 I had still covered the replay score. I'm not very impressed by pinball machines that allow me to win a replay in 5 games, let alone 20 games.

Fun/Lastability:
I found the game somewhat fun to play like most modern Sterns, I just found the art/lighting/zero-creativity/commercial aspect of it to be disappointingly boring.

The artwork for this machine just seemed way to much, it's very cluttered and hard to pick up what they were going for. They had lots of material to work with and maybe they through to much in. The game itself was fun, the multiball was awesome and everything flows and is quick but this feels like another pinball just catering for the hype of the super hero genre, avengers, xmen, transformers, spider man, bat man... time to get creative guys... The Big Lebowski perhaps?

Played this game a few times, super quick. I liked the flow of the game yet actually getting into the game story/objectives was lost. The game played well but objectives weren't clear. Needs a more memorable call out voice to direct shots/scoring. Enjoyed the pinball just not as good of matching the speed of the game to the game rules. I enjoyed the ramp where you smoke the decepticon but outside of that shot I felt the game could have been more interactive.

This version flows better than the LE. The rule set seems developed well now with latest update from Stern. It flows fast and has many targets and ramps that make it enjoyable.
