This a good machine that would compliment most collections. The backglass and playfield have great artwork that benefit from a really good theme. The playfield is laid out well and offers lots of interesting shots. The game can be brutal and ball times can be very short, which gives this game a really high "just one more game" factor. It features smooth ramps and great flow.

On the negative side, the scoring is a bit unbalanced and the rule set may be a bit shallow when compared to later games. However, this machine is tons of fun and is amazing to look at. Overall, this is solid playing machine that benefits from a great theme, good flow, and good artwork.

I've owned this game for a few weeks now. It's not as deep as my IJ or my Corvette, but it is loads of fun to play! Great machine for playing a quick game.

Fun game at first but after a few games it starts to get a bit repetitive. For the most part it's just left ramp...right ramp...left ramp....right ramp till payback time. Rinse repeat.

I am a bit biased due to owning an I'll Be Back In Black edition.

I hope that TERMINATOR 2 gets the v2.0 treatment.

T2 is a hard game for me to rate because it has a lot of nostalgic value to me. I picked this game up because I had a blast playing it in my college years. There was a "beater" T2 at a laundromat that I couldn't stop playing. Perhaps it was the simple approachable ruleset? Perhaps it was theme? Either way, there is something about this game that keeps me coming back, even as a now-more-experienced player. I have my game set STEEP with a wide open outlane. It is freshly waxed with new rubbers and plays fast. I enjoy T2 because it is a fantastic game to practice ball handling and nudging skills on. If your nudging game is on, you can really have some long ball times and fast play. If you are not feeling "on" the game will punish you for it with bricked shots, SDTM drains, and outlane drains. I love the Super Jackpot shot, it is utterly satisfying when you can time that cannon shot just right while keeping the other balls in play. There might not be a ton of variety, but T2 does a whole lot with a fairly basic playfield.

As far as quality, I believe T2 is a "transition game." Its layout is simple, but effective. As others have said it is reminiscent of a system 11 game as far as complexity. The cabinet art is pretty good, but not breathtaking. I think the playfield has a great art package, however simple. It is well lit, has nice lines, and is finished off by a neat pair of Terminator hands over the slingshot. The DMD animations are solid, but lacking when compared to games like Twilight Zone or AFM. However I think the package works great as a whole. The sound can be very engaging when turned up with intense gun noises etc. as the ball flies around. I'm sure an upgraded speaker kit would do very well here, but the stock sound pleases me. What I love most about T2 is the light show!! There are no exposed flashers(flasher domes) in the game, but there are many well placed flashers across the playfield. When you do something impressive, you get rewarded with a great light show. T2 might be "simple", but you can't help but get into the game with the intense sound/light show combination. One of my favorite moments oddly enough is post-game when the GI goes dark and the flashers are flashing rhythmically to the T2 theme. Be sure to give T2 a few plays in a dark room and see what I mean! Even with the standard lighting, no LEDs, the lighting is very stimulating. Very well done Williams. As a whole, Terminator 2 is a solid title if the theme agrees with you.

As a bonus, the game is not intimidating to service. I was able to dismantle and reach every area of the playfield with not much trouble for cleaning and rubber replacement. I am confident to tackle routine maintenance on T2, whereas on Twilight Zone I am a bit more nervous to "get under the hood."

This is an undervalued pin in my opinion. Can still pick it up for 2k all day long. Cannon, video mode, pistol plunger. Great addition to any game room and you can not go wrong with the theme. Not the most exciting pin to play, but it is still fun enough to press start twice in a row. The theme is definitely its strongest asset. A bit repetitive but great for beginners and fun for everyone.

Played this pin a lot during my term of office in the army (1991). Enjoyed it quit well then, but now it is just an average pin. It is fun, but not for long.

Great game, excellent flow, simple (system 11 like) rules and yet... a lot of fun to play. It really does a good job of using the theme and I think T2 is a borderline classic. I think everyone needs to own a T2 at some point. Just a good all round game that you may get tired of eventually, but you'll also miss once it goes.

Love this Game, Classic SciFi theme from one of the best movies released in the 90s,
Arnies voice overs blend well into the game, classic Steve Ritchie speed and Flow, simple but unforgiving at the same time.
Wont be leaving my collection..

I feel the hugely open playing field is one giant ball drain at times. Overall not a bad machine, however, I will gravitate to anything else in an arcade before playing this one.

My second pin and a good one. I love the theme and it's a fun, fast game with good flow. Not a keeper for me in my really small collection but I'd like to have it back some day.

Theme, artwork and Arnold's callouts really carries the game. When set up properly it can be a typical Steve Ritchie fast game. Cannon shot and Super Jackpot is great.

This is the first machine that I owned and have had it for two years. Thought about selling it when I bought Dredd and STTNG because it was not as flash. Poor T2 sat there for about 3 month patiently for me to return and I did and now I love the big fellow again. It is a classic that I will keep for a long time. It is pure pinball. Fast and dumb. Classic Steve Ritchie machine. You can pick them up for under 3K in Australia.

Really simple game to step up to as a beginner. Extremely satisfying left and right alternating ramp shot as you move towards "payback"

Its easy to love a pin with Arnie sound bites

A fun game I have great memories of playing back in the day. Now that I've rediscovered pinball, I still find this machine a ton of fun. It's seemingly straight forward yet still allows a nice variety of scoring approaches with good risk-reward choices to be made.
