Beautiful playfield artwork, backglass is worse but still one of the best looking tables. Quite simple layout with only one ramp to shoot and irritating lamp in the middle. Unusual and interesting idea is "second orbit" with bumpers in upper right part. Good classic rules and good flow.

My favorite machine of the nine I own. John's best work. Sure, it is an easy machine to reach the wizard mode on, but don't that add to the fun? And what a wizard mode it is. I don't understand the bashing it receives in some of these reviews.

I just do not get it. This game feels floaty and less enjoyable than any other released in that two year period and it isn't at all obvious why anyone would play it for any period of time. Has not held up well over the years either.

First one I ever played and my favorite machine! Pretty easy after awhile, but overall, great game for beginners and those wanting to start a love of pinball!

TOTAN is a challenging pin with a very good layout and nice ramps. Watching the ball fly around on all the winding ramps is an absolute joy.
The shots are good and the toys, i believe, are different and fun to play with.
I enjoy the bonus system that is attached to the risk of spinning the lamp.
The sound, music and lighting are all great. I would one day like to add this to my collection.

Very fun machine. Absolutely love the "end of ball bonus" sound as it counts your bonus. Music is also very catchy!

Absolutely stunning and beautiful game. Would love to have one just as a show piece. However I find it just to be tiring and repetitive. Toys are well integrated with theme though.

Perfect I everway to me. Great toys, beautiful art, mind boggling ball saves and flash. The fact it pulls you into the story and the music just makes you appreciate the game more. Love the animations and it's challenging but easy at the same time. Tons of great flow and fast play. Perfect blend of flash without it taking away fromy the rush of a moving ball

Update after owning it awhile i still love it but once you realuze you can beat the game almost every time you walk up to it, things fall off. Love for a revision in the rules

Beautiful, but could do with a bit more to do. Love the sounds, design and gameplay.

Artwork is top notch. Game play is smooth and unique. Some of the best artwork on any pin. Rules are basic and not too deep, but a real blast to play. L9ve this game.

This game lets the genie out of the bottle with a lot of exciting game play. The story line is fantastic. The giant lamp and genie really stand out. The artwork on the back glass, play field, and cabinet is stunning. The DMD animation is top notch keeping the story line going. The sounds and music set the mood and ambiance while playing the game. Making the lamp spin, striking the genie, disappearing pinball into the play field, and the out lane ball save is remarkable. The call outs are on point. This is a total package pinball that Williams put together. Hard game to walk away from. As stated at the Harem “boys will be boys!”

Great flow and lots to shoot for especially for a two flipper game.
They really nailed the theme on this one, gorgeous to look at and to listen to.
It loses a bit a lustre after you beat the Genie so set it up hard from the get go.

I would say I'm a casual plus player. I enjoy playing pinball because I have fond memories of playing pinball at my local pizza joint when I was growing up. When I see a pin, I usually throw a couple of bucks in but I'm not an addict (at least that's what i tell myself).

Tales of The Arabian Nights is one of the most beautiful pins out there. Lots of interesting goals and the storytelling is the best. Love the theme and game play. My downside is that you don't see much of this pin in the public and I've only seen them in private.

A very well-designed pinball: original theme, interesting gameplay, good build quality... But to me, it lacks of variety. I'm always glad to find one on location, but I don't find that "special thing" that makes me want to play again and again. A bit overrated, in my humble opinion.

I really enjoy playing this game. The DMD work is second to none in my view. Artwork is amazing although finding an unfaded cabinet may be difficult. Theme is well done and is the best Popaduik game. Everything flows and it has the best swirl ramp in pinball. Only complaint is that the play field takes a beating and sometimes hitting the lamp gets annoying.

One of my core classic games, just an imaginative game with plenty of offer. Not the biggest fan of the spinning Genie lamp but at least it fit the tables theme.

This is my dream pin, and I WILL have one some day. The only criticisms that I have are related to lastability: the default rules are on the easy side when you figure the game out. When I get mine, I'll crank up the difficulty, and it will be perfect. The sounds can get a little redundant, but not too bad. What a pin!

Edit: I've now owned this game for quite some time, and my comments above are spot on. Anyone complaining about the rule set just needs to make a few adjustments. Crank up the requirements for extra balls etc, and this game becomes challenging. After hundreds of games, I'm still AMAZED by the playfield design. This game is truly an engineering marvel. For a standard sized pin, it feels like it has more going on than any widebody I've ever played.

I bumped my review. That's right, this game IMPROVES with time!

A beautiful game with great game play. Lots of toys and cool magnets will keep both the avid player and the casual player coming back. Would love to own one someday.

I've owned totan for a few weeks now, so this is an early review that I'll adjust later on.
I absolutely love this game and find myself needing to play it on a daily basis.
I was lucky enough to buy one with a perfect cabinet. I find the cabinet art and PF art very desirable. Game play itself is awesome. Main ramp that diverts the ball in different directions is great. Multiple magnets used throughout the game. Hit genie, spin the lamp. Great bash toys. Love the save on the outlanes, very similar to TOM.
I own TOM and Totan and would give a slight nod to totan, though I think both games are awesome. I personally rank TOM and totan higher than MB and Lotr, though I realize this opinion is not shared by very many people.
If you are thinking about buying totan, fire away. You won't be disappointed.
EDIT: traded away my very nice totan for a GB Premium and cash. No regrets. TOTAN is a beautiful game and very fun, but I enjoyed it and moved it down the road. It deserves a high rating, but not sure it deserves the huge price tag.

Wasn't as fun as I remembered it now when I really played it in DK a few days (with new Sterns around it). But WMS/Bally sure could make pins!
