Oh man. Me and SPP do not get along. I love the theme but this layout just kills me. It looks fun to play but I do not have fun playing it. And as cool as that upper playfield is it can be absolutely brutal getting that shot for the couch lock.

The Simpsons...great theme great shots great layout lots of good rules and approachable for newbies and deep for the high level players. This is definitely one of Stern's best..

Took me awhile to take note of this game, spend some time on it at shows and finally add it to the collection after 6 years in the hobby and owning most top 20 machines. It definitely has some of the best theme integration and speech in pinball and is just outright hysterical. After owning most newer Sterns and many classic B/W's, I appreciate the inventive playfield layout - which works unlike some other games that try different shots but end up being clunky. The palyfield can seem unbalanced with all the easier shots to the center/garage and right side, but I like the challenge and last-ability offered by the left side. There are very few games like TSPP that can be loved by both the casual and highly skilled player. With NIB prices continuing to rise, TSPP is a bargain at $5-6k. Along with LOTR, Stern was making some amazing machines even in the "dark ages of pinball."

I will always be looking fro a good version of this game to buy. the ramp shots look easy but they can be tricky. even hitting the garage can get tough. the Couch shot is a treat when you get one. sounds are great and keep me smiling. it would be cool if stern would do a reissue of this game with some better lights and a screen like they currently are making.

Have owned this for nearly 5 years now. Never gets old. Flippers are a little clicky compared to my other games. But so much fun, heaps of variety. I love the series, and it continues to bring a smile to my face with the call outs.

Springfield Mystery bus tour freaks me out!

Put in a few games... Just enough to know that this game is seriously fun and deep. The layout is great and I wish Stern loaded games up like this one now a days.

This game is a lot of fun. I enjoy the upper playfield more than I do with most games. The game represents the Simpsons really well too. I even had fun playing this the first time and that particular pin wasn't working 100% correctly. Having now played it multiple times on a fully-functional machine, I can say that this is a game I may eventually want in my collection.

Its funny I used to be a 90's B/W snob and paid no attention to great games like TSPP.. wow was I making a mistake... the whole family loves this pin! From funny animations and sounds to simple to very deep rules, this ones a real keep.. so much so I'm doing a full pinball refinery armor upgrade on as it gets played so much!

Its just a fun pinball experience!

All my reviews are going to follow a simple formula for those reading.
Number of shots to make - Pro's - Con's - Must Have Mods - What To Look For When Buying

Number of shots - 11 - insane

Pro's:
* The number of modes and shots to aim for is amazing
* Theme tie in is awesome
* Locking balls on the couch
* Lastability is really high you won't get bored
* Speech is great I personally love Duffman
* 1 of only 2 machines Bowen Kerins owns, that has to be a positive

Cons:
* There will be frustration if you want to complete all there is to complete
* Tough to get a high score
* Rules aren't easy to follow for beginners
* A bit stop & go not a lot of flow

Must Have Mods: (Note I will not include things like LED's, Color DMD, Invisiglass or Speaker Upgrades unless it's really badly needed)
* Must get a Color DMD here
* Duff Beer Mod
* Inside cabinet art blades
* Speaker panel decal
* CBG "Worst Pinball Ever" decal

What To Look For When Buying
* Worn out cabinet artwork
* Tv works
* Plastic over Itchy & Scratchy hole is intact
* Wear around Itchy & Scratchy scoop

Really liked this machine, lots to do, mini play fields are cool, I don't know if it was the machine I was playing but some of the mechs on the playfield seemed clunky. Definitely one of Stern's better efforts, would suit a home environment really well.

This game is clearly not for everyone but I love it. The deep rule set keeps me coming back to see if I can accomplish more. Not a great game for novice players as rules are hard to understand and lighting modes / getting locks can be challenging. Game is a bit boring until you get it rolling but man...when you do ITS A BLAST. I feel like lower ratings on this game are typically from people who didn’t spend the time to learn the deeper rules and crush this table. Getting a good score is VERY SATISFYING on this game as it is very low scoring. Great for a private collection, does very well on route because of the theme but it is not great for competition because of abnormally long ball times.

This gameplay is IMHO the most challenging ever, especially when facing the endgame. The mini pf is fun to play and the toys and gimmicks did make me laugh so much. I had never experienced that before while playing a machine. Really big fun!

Doh, doh, dddodoh, doh!

Update - I got to play this at a friends house while visiting and finally see what the fuss is all about. It is confusing at first but once you get the rules and lear the shots it is fun fun fun. Just purchased one myself and am in love with it - now my fave game of my modest 6 pin collection. My rating 9/10
