A fantastic playfield design keeps you looking down at the action and not up at the pathetic back glass. It should be against the law to put the actor's faces anywhere on a licensed pinball back glass or playfield. That said, it is a GREAT pin! So many cool features and fast as hell. I want another one.

Pinheads seem to love Shadow. It's certainly a popular game these days. Alas, I just haven't been able to share most people's enthusiasm about this game. Caveat: I haven't seen the movie and know almost nothing about the character. That said, I just find the game "so so." Not a bad game by any means, just doesn't hold my attention long term. I'd rather save my money and get 2 classic pins over this one.

I think this game is overrated. Its can be a cool game for a tournament but its miss something special to be in the top 50

This is with the Aurich kit installed.

Seriously, if you have one and haven't done that yet, then what the hell are you waiting for.

1. Aurich kit
2. add lighting for the Battlefield

3. Enjoy one of the best tables ever made.

Had opportunity to own a very nice Shadow, as my first game getting back into pinball a few years ago. Spent a lot of time on it and never finished the Final Battle. Challenging and fun. High satisfaction when you complete combo's switching the furbas. Nothing like it in other games. Brian Eddy designed this game, he also designed Attack From Mars and Medieval Madness. I think the only reason this game isn't higher on the charts is the theme and tie to a movie with few fans. Forget about the movie, focus on the mystery and adventure of the character. If you can do that, you will really enjoy this game. High rating here for lastability. Play a nice one if you ever get the chance. Great game.

Good fun game, shame about Alec Balwin being in your face.
That why I got an Alternate translight.
Game itself is very challenging with the battlefield being an interesting and fun addition.
Starting to be more appreciated over time.
A real winner.

Some people refer to Shadow as an underrated machine, it is very rare to read a bad opinion on this game, overall it is fast, challenging, well tied to the theme, the diverters and magnet wall drop are fantastic, Having a great game on the Shadow makes you really feel like you accomplished something, and beating the final battle... well, when I finally do I will let you know... Some people have issues with the translite, personally it never bothered me, I think it is fine.. Shadow would also be a great game if you were to only have one game, as it is very challenging, and once you play it, you will want to play it again and again..

Another great game hampered by bad licensing, and a terrible backglass. Replace the backglass with an alternative one, and you immediately will be overjoyed. "A title that grows on you, as a pinball player".
A temperamental mechanical operational beast title that can have a lot go wrong, and whole lot of things to break as the balls are flying all over plastics, toys, ramps, mini playfield, and melting on magnets. Good versions are hard to find. Protect those PLASTICS! (notorious areas to break all over the place, especially below the mini playfield). If you have one, MYLAR the lock area, PERIOD, and put a breaker on the magnet, just like TAF.
You will thank me later, if your game starts smoking cigars inside the cabinet. The player controlled diverters are the shining star of this game.

Interesting history about this game in terms of collecting. The game basically sat "dormant" on collectability until collectors got more experienced all the way up until 2010. Now, it seems everybody wants one like Dr. Who or Congo. A lot of initial collectors dumped their machines on others due to playfield and part issues.

Old Simple 2005 Review:
Stunning game, Great Ruleset, selectable ramps, Amazing Ball "Lock", Challenging "Battlefield" Subgame

One of the most original pinball machines I ever played. The sanctum ball lock and the mini playfield are addictive and you want to achieve it over and over. I don't mind the backglass with Alic Baldwin that much, I am looking at the playfield anyway. The Shadow is not an easy game to complete, but when you do it feels like a great achievement. An underrated pinball machine in my eyes.

This pin is one of those ones where the theme was pretty bad. But don't let that stop you from playing or owning it. This is a challenging game but can also be fun for the novice players out there. There are some really great aspects to the pin from controlling which way you want the ball to travel on the ramps by using the diverters to the sanctum lock. The upper playfield is also really cool and fun. This is a definite keeper for me. Don't let the bad back glass art persuade you as there is a really cool aftermarket one you can get it. IMO this is one of the best pins out there.

One of the best all around 90's pins. Best bang for your buck in pinball or at least it used to be, prices going up. Still my favorite, had to buy another. This pin has it all, solid code, lots of cool toys and shots.

Only thing not to like it the translite. Looking at Alec Baldwin is annoying lol. Game is fun and smooth to play. Artwork on PF is great. Lighting is good too.

Great table that can be had at a great price, maybe one of the best tables vs cost you can get...

Interesting game, plenty to do and some hard shots... The shot though to start the modes I think its too tight and getting in their seems quite the ask, this would be maybe my main complaint...

The little Battlefield I thought maybe a little gimmicky, but actually turns out to be really cool and really unique...

The lane switchers are a cool idea, and amazed others have not copied, looping around and switching the lanes is amazingly cool and you can also use it to divert the ball to your desired flipper for a shot, cool stuff indeed...

My backglass is not the default, and the custom replacements much better match the theme on the table, so switching this out is recommend...

Overall this is a great table and comes highly recommenced...

Even though it's a "darker" theme, it's still a lot of fun, with a packed playfield, several things that interact with the ball, and an overall challenging game.

Shadow is a really cool game the Ferbas are cool and the play field artwork is good the battlefield is really cool and fun to play and the music and call outs in the game are really good. The only con of the game is the back glass but the alternate back glass fixes that.
