My favorite machine of all time! Out of the three Elvira machines Scared Stiff is the most fun to play in my opinion and has the funniest callouts. I just purchased one from the pinball company for my gameroom.

Beast ramp is beautiful. Spider is cool. BG is awesome. Easy game to finish.

SS is one of THE best integrations of theme, art, sound and especially speech ever. It is not trivial to beat the stiff o meter and next to impossible to beat spider mode. And Elvira’s double entendres are hilarious.

Amazing game that is great for both pinball beginners and veterans.

Always a fan of Elvira, I decided that after reviewing the three games designed around her that Scared Stiff was the best of the lot.

It has enough variation that it takes a while to get down, and when you finally get to the Stiff-O-Meter, if you make a mistake, you have to get through all six areas again before you get a chance to do it again.

The call outs are terrific, but I can see if you had some young and impressionable children, one might turn on the family mode (easy to do). My feeling on this is the kids probably already know what it all means.

Lighting effects while not revolutionary are effective. The playfield art is good, but I feel more could have done with the plastics. This is just personal taste I guess.

I love all the toys in this game, bogie men, stiff in the coffin, bony beast, spider wheel, leaders, and crate. Add Elvira call outs, and potty humor and you have a super fun game.... for a while.
Eventually the call outs get old and you realize how easy the game is to get scared stiff. Yet it is still fun to play. It just gets repetitive for home use.

A game in my top 5 - This game is so much fun - great gameplay, easy to understand rules, and a number of fun/interesting shots, and targets. This one has a lot of “come back for more” in it for me.

In my opinion, this is the best game that I have ever played. It is fast, fun, and frustrating all at the same time.

Love this game, and I always play when I see one on location. Love the sound effects and the popping frogs, never get tired of hitting them. It has the ‘one more’ feeling, seems easy to follow the rules, but have only played in the wild, so not too sure of the depth and my score reflects my ignorance.

I think it’s the best Elvira pin overall to play, but not quite as pretty as the new EHOH.

The lastability is poor because it is an easy and boring machine, always the same shoots.
The Pros: playfield artwork, cabinet artwork and a great theme. They could have done better: a missed opportunity!

A great game and one of my all-time favorites. I have probably played this game thousands of times throughout the years and have not grown tired of it. It is challenging enough for even competitive players. The variety of goals and shots, some more difficult than others, the ability to repetitively loop, the theme and humor all combine to make this one of the best.

Great, great machine that stands the test of time. Nice callouts, stunning artwork. Just wish someone would write some additional code. Went to wizard mode on the first day of owning it despite being a god-awful player.

Always a fun play. Ball times can be quite long, but never seem to drag on. The spinning spider on the backglass provides a nice break in play and isn't a distraction like some of the pins that require you to look up during a game. Ramp shots are smooth and the multiballs are easy to achieve. Callouts are fun. The game might get a bit repetitive for a small collection, but it is certainly worth putting quarters in when you see one. My fondness for the game is probably aided in that I love cheesy B-horror films - new and old, and that I remember those late night Elvira movie nights on TV.

Great game. Rules are simple to learn. Can walk right up and be successful. Shots are great. Not easy, need some skill, but not frustratingly difficult. The jackpot crate is awesome. Coffin shooting balls. Spinning Spider. The ramps look great with the bones and lights. A lot of fun in this game and it's easy to learn and play.

Fun game and easy to understand. I will always play this when I see it. Not a huge fan of the theme, but integration is spot on. The game is fun and everything comes together really nicely. I'd own one if I didn't have daughters in the house.

Not a bad game, it’s fun for a few rounds whenever I see it on location. My only major gripe is that there is a lot of SDTM’s coming off the crate in the middle. This is annoying especially when it comes off the plunger and goes SDTM which sometimes happens multiple times in a row and breaks flow of the game.

A very good, fun and attractive game though now I play it less since I purchased EHOH. The call outs are great and is truly fun for a few games. The only slightly comment is that it seems to get a little repetitive to me after a while.
